Hi, thought as many othe regions and nations have a thread of their own, Wales should have one too with some news relating to two notable former/current staff recently.

First up, a very sad story to announce is that the former BBC Wales journalist and BBC Radio Cymru editor Aled Glynne Davies has been found dead after going missing on New Year's Eve. Huw Edwards lead the tributes.

And a very personal tribute from BBC Wales' Welsh Affairs Editor Vaughan Roderick here (in Welsh but Google Translate should do its work well).

And on the subject of Vaughan Roderick, he announced just before Christmas that he has been off air for a few months due to losing a leg as a result of an operation. He will hopefully return to work soon.

So as reported last year, Waterloo Road (Grange Hill on roids) has returned to BBC One, and is also on the iPlayer (before the scheduled broadcast time of 8pm Tuesdays).

I have to say I am not impressed with episode one, it strikes me that they're desperate to entice new viewers (use of texts overlaid on screen, children staging a coup and a violent disorder over a racist statue/school naming and paint bombs being thrown everywhere, along with a vagrant youth living in the boiler room).

The whole episode is in that weird cinema aspect ratio with bars top and bottom.

None of BBC1, BBC2, ITV or C4 have a live show this evening. When did each last have one?

Do the BBC still have a deal with newer Pixar movies, for example do we expect Lightyear, to premier on BBC 1 in a few years time

Without a doubt, The Love Boat is up there. Along with Hill Street Blues, Cagney and Lacey and Crimewatch!

BoXmas seem to have issues playing Deee-Lite Groove is in the Heart

On other channels it is in the correct ratio, nothing cut off of the screen and it is bright.

When BoXmas plays this, it starts off very dark, heads get cut off etc and at some points it looks like when someone uses a camera to record video from a screen then plays it back as there is a lot of wobbling.

I couldn't see a thread for SET, so have started this one up.

The 0627 opt during Breakfast was late, so viewers got BBC London until the weather forecast when TW eventually opted in.
