At this stage, we'd surely be better served with Guide Dogs running the channel.

They might as just put up a red screen of death - “Programmes continue at 23:00”

Are you kidding?!  Big Grin

In that case we'll see the spy ballons next hour.

Wouldn't it be be a better idea simulcasting Asia Business Report, if there's nothing else to show?
Maybe renaming it World Business Report.

Could this be Lucy rehearsing for a new programme?

Shows a computer with 'With Lucy' next to it.
I was right about this being Lucy. Was going through Instagram and saw that Yalda and Lucy were together.

New programme rehearsals?

There's nothing wrong with a programme called Asia Business Report, covering the markets during the Asian trading session, if you ask me. Strangely, they did used to air it back when a lot more content was considered "unsuitable" for the NC!

I believe national and local newscasts of CBC Canada are still publicly funded (partially, in a way), but I think CBC News Network is funded through advertisers and subscription?
As a Canadian the CBC model is a disaster.

Arguably if they were to move Newsnight to a 10.45pm (as per lockdown) then it could finish at 11.30pm. This would give a cleaner join with the (international) BBC News schedule. Whilst this would leave a 15 minute gap between the Ten and Newsnight this could potentially be filled with a sports bulletin, as currently there are sport updates overnight on World News.

Was going through the thread and found this post. I think this could work - it would certainly be better than that guide dogs feature being repeated EVERY night. I get that it's an interim arrangement, but surely it's a bit slack?!

Not convinced damaging Newsnight’s ratings on BBC Two is worth it to fill a gap on a BBC News channel.

Well it doesn't have to be moved on BBC Two - just show it on a 10-15 minute delay after the sports news on the NC.

Yes that would work
