To be honest, I imagine the BBC programme will be well produced and well thought out more like those French programmes you speak of than TalkTV’s efforts.

I think RTE's recent studio upgrade for Morning Ireland is likely to be closer to the BBC's studio than previous visualised radio efforts, especially considering it is also getting shown on BBC Two and is the 'flagship' of the new channel's UK commitment. I also wouldn't be surprised if Campbell's show gets a bit of retooling to be more like the old Victoria Derbyshire programme.

What a shame. I was actually thinking how great it was to see more of him in daytime recently, again, and thought it could continue after the merger. Oh dear, I guess we should expect a lot more of this over the next few months.

That’s a shame about David Eades. Didn’t he become freelance a few years ago so was the first for the chop? There must be others too who are freelance, so will see them disappear soon too.

That's sad about David Eades, leaving with literally no fanfare or even mention of it on air at all. That's maybe how he wanted it, we'll never know, but it's in complete contrast to the send off on air that Mike Embley had in 2021.

Who's the longest serving BBC World News presenter left now? Guru-Murthy? Bundock? There are a few left from the early 2000s, although bizarelly they all seem to fit into 'started in the early 2000s' or 'started in the last five years', there isn't really an in between category.

Amroliwala would be my guess, although he didn't officially join World until 2014 he had been a presenter on News 24 since 1997. And I think was a presenter on World before then.

Hockings has been there since about 2001.
