Glad that my eyes weren’t deceiving me!

How's that pie tasting, Stu? Wink

But they have 7 cameras and will never need more!

It's almost tasty with a bit of gravy. I am always happy to accept when I'm wrong. Tongue

RE: Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg - Newsroom - 23-04-2023

The Election Set is getting an early airing this morning on BBC 2.

Catwalk is gone and a 'mega desk' is being used. That's what Kuenssberg has called it .

Interesting to note the tighter camera angles from the bits I saw. Didn't see any shots of the monolith.

Was trying to work out if the mega desk was the normal one with an extension on the left, or a completely different desk. Presumably elections were thought about when designing the current set.

Ref catwalk, if you're referring to the curved screen area on the left that appeared to be the same as it normally is on Sundays.

If you rewind and look again as the Dowden interview ended you will see how different it is when Laura gets up and walks back to the desk.

The curved wall area is still there for interviews. The 'mega desk' has replaced the previous one in front of Tower B, as you can still see the track running to the right of it, but I'm guessing it's now closer to the screen as the image isn't quite so clear.

I wonder why they removed the actual catwalk. I don't see how it gives them more space. They could be planning to do something different in that area during the LEs.

That desk has been extended. You can clearly see the join when she walks back to the desk from the interview space.

Correction, the Catwalk is still there, but with a tighter shot during the two interviews which doesn't show the lights in front of the 'Sunday Extension' to it which accommodates the rug.

As Laura walks back to the desk you can still see it, together with that join for the extension of the desk.

It is not there.
