The catwalk is still in, the only thing that changed is the big desk in the hard set. Just a note on your earlier discussions, it is indeed a DJI RS3 Pro gimbal.

Catwalk was the same as today 2 months ago (26/02) at least, it's just refitted/covered like this on Sundays for the interviews.

I don’t suppose you know what sort of camera and lens they’re using on that?

I’ve got an RS3 Pro, and with my Sony A7Siii mirrorless camera and a Sigma 24-70mm lens, it seems near the limit of its capabilities. But I’d have thought they’d have been using something a bit more serious and heavyweight for broadcast.

Also, would this be transmitting the output of the camera wirelessly, as I would have imagined a cable out of the camera would unbalance the gimbal?

It's a Sony A7iii and Sony lens (couldn't tell you which one unfortunately), and uses RF to transmit its image. The RF kit sits neatly within the gimbal itself so no cable restricts the cameras movement. I believe weight restrictions were the reason it's a DSLR and not a standard video/broadcast camera.

Thanks for the info. Nice to know as a Sony Alpha user that the results can look on a par with broadcast kit. It certainly convinced some anyway Big Grin .

How long has the hexagon based X election logo been used now?

Since 2015 - so that's 3 general elections and 7 sets of local elections (2016, May 2017, 2018, May 2019, 2021, 2022 and 2023) with the elexagon branding

Also used for the 2019 European elections, with separate hexagon based logos also used for the EU referendum, Northern Ireland elections and US elections - so it has become quite a neat little device for election coverage.

Great job colour correcting that to match the broadcast cameras!

This morning’s pre-recorded interview with the New Zealand Prime Minister had a noticeably different look to it.

It looked like the Studio B lighting had been made more subdued - the light boxes behind the big curved screen seemed to be off too. The cameras also seemed to be using a shallower depth of field.
