Loose Women - BBCMeridian - 05-09-2022

A live audience has returned to Loose Women today, after 2 years because of the pandemic and not only that but for the first time in eight years, we have had a full Opening Titles with a new sequence and the full theme tune.

I’ve watched back the start of the programme and the the titles and reintroduction of the audience lift the programme a lot.

The show is so much better with an audience. Although I wish they would do the walk on now they have an audience & a voiceover. Having said that, they may have just not done it on Monday due to Brenda being on crutches.

Yeah but having said that, they have full Opening Titles for the first time since 2014.

Looks like I was right. The walk-on was absent because of Brenda. She was not on Thursday's episode and the walk-on returned.

Dame Kelly Holmes joins the programme as a permanent panelist, taking over from Penny Lancaster? (I think).

Between Lancaster, Holmes, Hunniford, Bridge, Piper and Street-Porter, it must be one of the most decorated talk shows on tv anywhere!

Loose Women in Christmas mode

Would have been nice if the opener footage had a Christmas variation, ie the ladies at a Christmas lunch.

Just spotted that the show has added a lot more of the backstage team to the closing credits - and the order of them has also changed too, as a result.

The following roles have now been added: of Cameras (Camera Operators), Studio Tech, Grams Operator, Floor Sound, Vision Control, and Gaffer - as of today's ep.

Not LW per se, but that vocal performance from the Ladies on Britain Get Singing was incredible. It really did have everything.

Mind you, having three professional singers in the line-up probably helped somewhat!

As for LW itself, haven’t seen Ruth for many weeks. Hope she’s just having a break.

And, lastly, I take back everything I’ve ever said before: having the audience IS a good thing. Although the early days of lockdown without an audience seemed to make the conversation deeper, the audience is/are indeed the 5th Loose Woman.

Seems odd Loose Women gets credits when they've been abandoned from the other shows. I get it's the last show in the live daytime line up but seems somewhat unfair on the earlier shows, and you'd think nowadays missing that 30 seconds to promote ITVX would be frowned upon at ITV Towers.
