Well, the Kansas City Chiefs were not involved in that game, which reduces the likelihood of that…

I don’t think they intended to display anything other than the score at that point though?

Paul Azinger has left his role as NBC's lead golf analyst. A pay cut amid budget cutsreported to be the reason.

Curt Byrum will replace him for the upcoming Hero World Challenge, with it still to be seen who will replace Azinger full time. I would imagine that Byrum's lack of major success would count against him getting the role full time. Of the regular (male) ex-players used by NBC, Justin Leonard I believe is the only remaining major winner. Of course there would be many names from outside the current NBC roster in the running.

Another golf line is that the new TGL, run by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy will be delayed by a year due to the roof of the venue collapsing. The event will be broadcast on ESPN when it does occur.

NFL Redzone (and presumably the whole NFL Network building in Inglewood, California) being evacuated with an alarm audible in the studio.
Something unprecedented for Scott Hanson in his 20+ career.

With the control room evacuated, the conclusion of Buffalo @ Philadelphia is being played live and uninterrupted until further notice.

EDIT: Scott returns after less than five minutes away, with the alarm still loud in the background. With only one game live, Scott just said goodbye to the American audience before putting the international feed back to Philadelphia.

Got a feeling the writers at 'Saturday Night Live' will have some material based on what happened at NFL Network.

RE: American Sports Presentation - The Decimator - 30-11-2023

NASCAR's new TV broadcast deal has been announced. Starting in 2025, the series will be split between FOX, NBC, Amazon, and a returning TNT. Xfinity Series race will air exclusively on The CW.

RE: American Sports Presentation - agemame - 01-12-2023

It's a fascinating carveup - Amazon and TNT essentially taking as much of practice and qualifying as they can, split 50:50 apart from the 'major' races, with TNT getting the back end. FOX essentially keeps the same amount of actual racing as it did, including the All Star event, and NBC effectively loses 10 of the midseason races to the new channels so they can keep the full playoff race structure as exclusives. Probably very good for the backend, and perhaps intended to drive the hardcore fans to the NASCAR OTT streaming rather than play chase around the programme guide.

Very strange to see that the Xfinity Series will be on The CW, rather than NBC, considering that Xfinity is the consumer-facing brand of Comcast, which owns NBC.

Last ever SEC on CBS today, as Alabama take on Georgia in the Championship Game. (Not on Sky sadly, they can only show ESPN/ABC’s stuff)

Not the end for college football on CBS of course as the same crew will be covering Big 10 in the same slot next season, and the iconic theme music will remain for CBS’s college football coverage, but certainly the end of an era. Next year ESPN and ABC take over exclusive rights to the SEC (and hopefully we’ll see quite a bit of it on Sky)

The New York Post reports that Al Michaels will not return as NBC/Peacock's secondary lead commentator during the NFL playoffs, with that position going to Noah Eagle.

To be honest, after listening to some of the Thursday Night Football broadcasts with Michaels this season, I am not surprised NBC have opted against bringing him back one last time. There isn't much enthusiasm or excitement as there use to be in his calls and you get the feeling that the end of his long and distinguished career could be near (similar to how Martin Tyler was in his last season with Sky in the UK).

There is also a vote today of NFL owners on increasing the number of overseas matches to at least eight per season.
