Seems that technicians working on the broadcast side for NBA side, Cleveland Cavaliers, and MLB side, Cleveland Guardians, have voted in favour of union representing with the IATSE (International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees) this week: https://iatse.net/sports-broadcast-crews-in-cleveland-vote-yes-for-union-representation/

Cavaliers are carried by Bally Sport in Ohio, while Guardians are also carried by Bally Sport, but in the Great Lakes along with Ohio, and it couldn't come at an appropriate time as the RSN station's owners, Diamond Sports Group, are in bankruptcy proceedings.

An alternative feed will be carried by Nickelodeon, who specifically promised to bringing the slime into the game:

ESPN has "announced its reimagined NBA game and studio coverage plans for the 2023-24 season".
I'm not familiar with ESPN's NBA coverage, but sounds like there is quite a bit of turnover.

The RSN saga continues... Diamond is suing Sinclair for appropriating their funds and pocketing revenues from selling branding rights to Bally's.

NBC has unveiled its new College Football graphics, as it prepares to take on its new, landmark, Big Ten deal:

As seen, there are strongly intertwined with the Sunday Night Football graphics, speaking of which: they are treating each game like NBC likes to do, the Sunday Night Football and Olympic style, including lots of cross-promotion with these properties, as well as NASCAR, Triple Crown horse racing and even Premier League coverage. The afternoon games will air exclusively on Peacock, with the marquee game (the Saturday Night one) being aired on NBC, under the Big Saturday Night brand, and featuring alt-rock band Fall Out Boy as their equivalent of Carrie Underwood and “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night”. Maria Taylor will serve as presenter, and they are installing a traveling set which will be built near each campus’ stadium.

Other afternoon games will air on CBS and Fox: CBS will air a mid-afternoon game on Saturday and a midday fixture on Sunday, plus a Black Friday matchup; all will stream on Paramount+ US. For their coverage, CBS is going the traditional way, retaining most of the team and style of their long-running SEC coverage (which is moving in a exclusive basis to ESPN and ABC from next season), including their legendary theme music from Lloyd Landesman, a move which generated strong reactions, given their iconic status and its longstanding relationship with the SEC.

As for Fox, the network will air the Thursday night matchup, with other matches airing on its own Fox Sports networks (FS1 and the Big Ten Network). Additionally, each network will alternate from now in airing the Big Ten Championship game (long exclusive to Fox). NBC will air this season’s event, with CBS and Fox following in 2025 and 2026.

The move doesn’t cover exclusively football, but also basketball: Fox and Peacock will ramp up the number of matchups covered, with Fox airing 200+ matches per season, and Peacock streaming a mixed package of 47 men’s and 30 women’s basketball matches. CBS will expand their existing Big Ten rights by adding more regular season games and airing the Finals (both men’s and women’s) in an exclusive basis, airing on CBS, CBS Sports Network and Paramount+.

Both Fox and NBC are also committing to air Olympic sports: Fox is relying on its own Big Ten Network for extra sports coverage, whilst NBC is streaming their portion of the cake on Peacock (and strongly associating it with its Olympics coverage).

RE: American Sports Presentation - Rdd - 27-08-2023

Of course we won’t see much college football over this side of the ocean this year - thanks to a perfect storm of the ESPN Players closure simultaneous with TNT exiting its affiliation agreement with ESPN. (You’d think that ESPN, knowing the TNT deal was coming to an end, might have kept the player alive to see how many new subs it would have picked up as a result. Maybe they ran the numbers and no amount of new subs would have made it pay. Oh well, it’s disappointing and there’s a very disgruntled dedicated fan base out there).

What little we will see, Notre Dame games, well it was about time for a change with NBC’s graphics being 8 years old and having been dropped from NFL as long as 2018. Not a direct copy of their NFL graphics but clearly adapted from them.

On the SEC on CBS theme, I don’t get the cause for complaint here, more people would have been more annoyed if it had been changed. It’s little remembered now that it was originally written as a NFL theme in the 1980s and those making the argument ignore that CBS always used it for their other college football (Army Navy, the Sun Bowl and Mountain West games on CBSSN).

Do we now know that the SEC on CBS and B1G on NBC games will not be carried by any broadcaster either this season? There were mumbles of the former staying on TNT and the latter going onto Sky along with the Notre Dame games, but wasn't sure if this came to fruition.

RE: American Sports Presentation - Rdd - 27-08-2023

I’m given to understand there’ll be no college football of any description whatsoever on TNT this season, and there’s none in the advance schedules.
