They're still hosting from their tent near the Palace, so I guess it's better doing it with one of your main anchors. When you've bagged a decent pitch, you use it to the full, even though most of the action has now moved to Windsor Castle.

She hosted the Saturday of Prince Philip’s funeral. And going back much further, she and the other presenters (Julie, Mark Austin and Alastair Stewart) used to regularly take it in turns to do Sunday evenings.

Even rarer is Mary doing the late news on a Sunday. The only time you see Mary this late at night is one day over Christmas

Although technically not News at Ten that might be the first News... at Ten she has done since the fallout over bringing Tom Bradby in to the roll.

Worth noting now that Tom Bradby has now been in the role longer than Trevor Mcdonald was in the 90s.

Well, strictly speaking, it was 10.05 - but what's five minutes between friends?   She did do one or two Sunday 10s very early on during Tom's reign.

If you just count News at Ten, then yes, you are correct - Tom has been doing News at Ten longer than Trevor did - but then Trevor remained lead newscaster until 2005, as he moved to the Evening News which became the flagship, then back to News at Ten/When, and subsequently 10.30.
