It’s a big space, but you’ll rarely see it that wide on TV.
It’s not about the furniture, or lack of, it’s about the graphics and storytelling through the walls.

Oh but you will… they’ve built so many wide shots into the new look. Not long now!

The line from The Inbetweeners springs to mind..."you've spent all our money on fancy f****** crisps?"

In all seriousness though I'll wait to judge properly when it's in full use this evening.

If they insist on using a blue logo for the programme strap they really should change all the red elements to blue as well. Indeed going for red, white and blue is probably the oppoof what they're trying to achieve.

RE: BBC/STV Scotland News - DTV - 12-06-2023

The title graphics are quite nice, though the overall sequence does have the same problem as the network ones where the music and graphics don't really work together - particularly with the music hanging on a bit too long.

The set itself is alright, but in use has the problems that were already identified on Friday. The standing desk could do with having the 'frontage' being full-height and overall it's just too empty - could really have done with having the tower in a similar position to Studio B and having some kind of mini-catwalk on the left-hand side. As I already said, really feels like a missed opportunity as they've got the space for something more interesting than just a big version of the English regions' sets.

As a sidenote, the inclusion of the same BBC Sport graphics as we've seen in the English regions is probably a reasonable confirmation that we'll be heading for something similar with Sportsday (and possibly the supposed new Sport programmes) when they relaunch?

Well, they have to maintain their contrarian status somehow.

Well that doesn't deserve any bunting at all, how lame and lacklustre.

I'm almost thinking I'd prefer it came from the atrium?

What is going on at the BBC?

The titles aren’t good either
