Really can’t wait to see the new studio in action! I’m sure it’s looking great.

Although I like the atrium studio, I think it’s a little tired now … although I doubt it will be updated anytime soon since it’s only 4 years old.

Will be interesting to see if the cameras feature as part of the set as they do in studio B in London.

They did do that in 2019 for the mini update, but this didn’t last long before they dropped the opening shot of the studio.

Another wee snippet of information - the only bulletin to use titles will be the Monday-Friday 18:30. Looks like all others will use wide shot of studio and an audio sting. No cameras will be in shot.

The new titles are similar to Newsline, however they are short like Wales Today.

So essentially a variation of everything that has been seen over the last 15 years.

No titles for short bulletins and only short sting titles for the main programme, eh?

Didn't RS do that in a previous era circa late-2000s/early-2010s?

Thus proving that all trends go round in circles.

They did in 2004

That's a shame, I've always liked how the cameras are integrated into the studio, and BBC Wales similarly have integrated them in their own way too. Will reserve judgement until the big unveil. I'm sure it will look amazing on screen!

What is the current situation on each platform (cable, DTT, satellite) with regards to representation of STV regions/sub-regions on STV HD and ITV Border Scotland on ITV1 HD?

Given that Auntie Beeb obviously doesn't have any regions/sub-regions in Scotland, one presumes that they won't have bothered making the same technical changes to the transmitting masts in Scotland as was recently completed in England?

In which case, it would presumably fall to STV/ITV to find the time, money, and effort to achieve representation of all regions/sub-regions there?

Tonight’s Reporting Scotland looked like it was coming from a different studio tonight? There were no wide shots and a fixed background of a screen, didn’t look to be the temporary studio they’ve been broadcasting from.

I thought it was a green screen, the BBC News Scotland animated globe looked too good to be from a monitor screen.
