It wouldn't be the first time the regional bulletins have been used for promotional purposes for other ITV shows.

Isn’t that the truth…

It's at the end of the newsroom, up against the windows that overlook the canal. All the blinds are currently pulled down over the windows, so you can't see the back of the set when standing outside.

I'm really hoping that EMT and MT will debut their new sets tomorrow. I'll not hold my breath, mind.

Well it wasn't this week; this is taking a long time (10 weeks already) - so must be a pretty big change.

I think the last time around was only 2 weeks...

I’m guessing it’s more than just a cosmetic set change this time, but a full HD upgrade of the kit and gallery.

Meanwhile Nick Owen’s been getting down with the kidz…

East Midlands have updated the studio. Looks brilliant, just wish they would update the opening shot of the titles! (I can still make out a restaurant in there I frequented that closed in 2020, makes me miss it when I see it!)

I agree, really good - BBC really raising their game when it comes to regional sets this round - pretty much for the first time, these are national-grade sets. Similar layout to the Belfast set, but with a coffee table and sofa (in the style seen in the new Breakfast set) instead of a desk. Also really good quality skyline backdrop - the empty newsrooms are no more!

Also some really interesting and great looking BBC Sport graphics that I've not seen anywhere else. I hope these are going to get rolled out everywhere.

Looks good... kind of reminds me of the barco national set from a decade ago though.

I was expecting it to look pokey if they all seem to be having the same studio design and size but it seemed a generous size to me.

Was it in proper HD though on Sky/Virgin?
