And given that WPCH-TV is a superstation, this would mean that 4 of the 9 stations that are currently classed as superstations.....are CW affiliates!

Here's a good write-up about what the CBS stations are doing post CW, puts everything here in nice clean clear way. The KBCW and WPCW call letter changes and new brands of KPIX+ and KDKA+ .

WPSG, WUPA , KPYX, KMAX - 8pm News, KYPX also 9pm news. It also says that KDKA+ (WPKD) will be airing 8pm news in November, I wonder if that's an addition or they'll be like WSBK and have 8pm and 10pm news.

Seven of the new stations will air 48 hours.

And this one has the same stuff, plus all the new brandings. I'm guessing WUPA will still be going back to airing full local news but still presented from Dallas, like it was before the now shows started. https://tvnewscheck.com/business/article/cbs-to-transition-eight-stations-from-cw-to-independents

Also, Also, WADL has a new site with a new logo https://www.cw38wadl.com/

They are dropping the 8 and 9pm news hours indeed, but they are however filling these gaps with afternoon news at 2pm and a 11pm half-hour broadcast:

There is speculation over at TVNewsTalk.net that Nexstar might bring back the CW affiliation to WGN (from Weigel-owned WCIU). According to the FCC licensing portal, their agreement with 26 ends in September next year (one year from now).

For context...  WGN dropped The CW in the first place so it wouldn’t have to continually reschedule CW programming to other timeslots as “makegoods”, so it could air Cubs, White Sox, Bulls and Blackhawks games, live and continuously in prime time, followed by its late night news block; this had been the case since The WB affiliated with channel 9 back in 1995. However, since dropping the CW, all teams have left WGN in favour of cable, with the Cubs partnering with Sinclair/Bally Sports to launch the Marquee Sports Network, and the White Sox, Bulls and Blackhawks signing exclusivity deals with NBC Sports Chicago and WMAQ.

This led to WGN scrambling to fill the gaps left by these moves, by increasing the number of original local shows, off-network reruns and more local news; they also got a pack of Chicago Fire MLS local rights (until Apple TV+ took over). Ironically, WGN began airing LIV Golf after WCIU declined to air them citing a strong syndicated off-network programming line-up on weekends, plus popular coverage of Illinois High School Association sport events. Now, WGN will air the Raycom ACC package due to the same reasons already mentioned.

11pm is a return for them, they had that up until a few years ago when they moved to ten. They kept it even after the NBC split.

It was Seattle too. But now, we have an affiliation replacement: it won't be on KONG. Sinclair's KOMO will air The CW on a subchannel. And the deal with WPNT is now official too. The deal also renews Sinclair's existing CW affiliations, both main channels and subchannels.

Given this news I think that we now have the stations that are going to be the new CW affiliates from tomorrow
WPCH-TV (IND to The CW)
WADL-TV (MyNetworkTV to The CW) (MyNetworkTV will continue during late nights)
WPNT-TV (MyNetworkTV to The CW) (MyNetworkTV will continue during late nights)
WPHL-TV (MyNetworkTV to The CW) (MyNetworkTV will continue to air on a subchannel)
KQCA-TV (MyNetworkTV to The CW) (MyNetworkTv programming will continue to remain on the station)
KRON-TV (MyNetworkTV to The CW)
KOMO-TV (ABC/The CW) (The CW programming will air on a subchannel)
WTTA-TV (MyNetworkTV to The CW)
KAUT-TV (IND to The CW) (This affiliation switch from Sinclair's KOCB, which will become an independent station after this, is unrelated to CBS' decision to make it's affiliates independent stations)
It makes me wonder which is going to be the last CW network programme that will air on the soon to be independent stations

RE: The CW taken over by Nexstar - sky303 - 31-08-2023

The shows tonight on the CW are reality shows "Fight to Survive" and "FBoy Island" so that will be the last shows. I will say it's fitting they got to air the series finales of Riverdale and Nancy Drew last week since that signals the end of the old CW, pretty much.

You are spot on about those two shows ending, it really seems a happy coincidence

RE: The CW taken over by Nexstar - sky303 - 31-08-2023

Looks like two of the Nexstar stations joining the CW are rebranding

WTTA-TV will no longer be Great ---38  but CW Tampa Bay  their website updated
https://www.wfla.com/the-cw-tampa-bay/

and Freedom is over for KAUT, the name lasted longer than their gimmick  to be CW43

Going from CW34 to CW 43 is kind of funny in a way.

Trivial Pursuit hosted by LeVar Burton (the Star Trek The Next Generation actor) is apparently coming to CW.
