Terrible news, this just shows that Youtube is not a safe place for TV archivists.......

I remember some people questioning why TV Ark still existed right after its long-awaited relaunch, arguing that it was unnecessary when so much content was available on YouTube. This is an example of why websites like TV Ark are so important.

Probably got too many copyright strikes. If you get too many takedown requests, you get banned.

But that argument is reinforced by the fact that it's only been online for about 2 months in the last 10 years.

Sites like that - when they work - have their place, but they can't beat the likes of YouTube and accounts on various social media platforms in terms of sheer quantity of material, newness and (usually) quality. Even TVArk is better on social media: there's more new material and it's on a video player that actually works

I seem to remember it was mainly only one person who did that, and they popped up in most of the pres site threads to repeat the same thing. You can probably guess what username they're posting on here these days as! Wink However full respect to someone so resolutely sticking to their guns on such things in this modern world of flip-flopping.

I can't imagine Ben's account disappearing for good too, but likely will just take some time to get re-established again on a new one, as I believe they're still quite active. Just like how every time they killed off one of our twenty free Tripod accounts back in the early pres site days, we'd be back with another one within 48 hours depending entirely on how long it took to reupload everything over dial-up. Big Grin The bigger risk with the YT accounts tends to be with those ones where the uploader added some great and niche (IE non CBBC/CBeebies/other kids channel) stuff years back then moved on. When those accounts get nixxed by whatever new algorithm changes come in over the years, something really gets lost.

Video showing all the continuity surrounding the evening that Big Brother was evacuated for a bomb scare in 2003. Interesting to watch as it becomes clear they won't be doing any live shows that night.

And here's the highlights the night after. Also the same show that features the famous moment when Lisa proclaims she could kill someone with just two fingers.

Thanks - that era of C4 continuity perhaps doesn't get enough praise. I wasn't a huge fan of the NOW/NEXT on the idents but it worked well in a situation like this.

RE: TV Social Media Pres Gold - James2001 - 23-06-2023

Which year was it they had to cut the feed because of a massive fight?

I think that was down to a "fake eviction" where they put them in a room where they could watch the other housemates slagging them off, then put them back in the house.
