Kinda has the whiff of a genuine Radio Active/KYTV flavour to it all, doesn't it?
Think Mike Morris got involved with it at some point post-TV-am - and didn't it end up as a low-budget sports channel or some such by the time it closed?
Talking of Mrs Whiteley, there's this clip of her fronting Calendar Kids - one of the many Calendar spin-offs - from 1978. Quite possibly featuring the first instance of a female football commentator on British TV, too.

Wire TV started a channel called Sportswire. Eventually it got bought by the Mirror Group and became L!ve TV

Snippets of Channel 4 and Thames around midday on 26th October 1984.
A great choice of viewing on independent television.. Channel 4 hasn't started yet and isshowing a testcard and 4-Tel in vision. Thames is on strike and just showing it's logo and music.

And Thames wouldn't have made it on air until around 1.30pm - management were approaching the end of their first week putting out a makeshift service.
LWT took over at its normal time that evening (just the small matter of another 15 minutes for The Six O'Clock Show to fill) and TV-am wasn't affected either way.

I was surprised to see that Thames just put up a still of their logo rather than a caption. But I suppose by that point and with only 3 TV channels everyone was aware of them being on strike.
Here's a clip of the start of programmes 3 days later, they had a menu up before going on air

From Neil Miles of this parish...what seems to be a closed circuit OB feed of Radio 2's Children in Need music marathon from 1992.

Interesting point in time in Radio 2's history - Ken was at the start of a 30-year plus stretch on mid-mornings while Brian Hayes (better known for his abrasive approach to talk radio) was about to be ditched after a year on breakfast in favour of the returning Terry Wogan.
