RE: Doctor Who - James2001 - 14-09-2023

Hopefully reprising her role as Lady Whiteadder or the Caramel bunny Wink

RE: Doctor Who - Blubatt - 14-09-2023

No, she's playing a Meep, likely in the first special. The Star Beast is the name of the first special, and also the name of a story arc from the doctor who magazine, which suggests; to me, that its actually an adaptation of that story.

A brilliant actress but always a bit disappointing in roles as the characters she plays are less interesting than herself.

There will be another trailer debuting tomorrow at 18:10 - ahead of Strictly Come Dancing.

There has been an uplift in promotion in recent days building up to tomorrow night.
I've got to say this promotion has been very good - there has been a lot of discussion, excitement and speculation around online across the last few days, and this will culminate in the trailer airing ahead of the biggest rated show of the week.

Firstly, there was another scrambled blip, that first aired last Saturday ahead of Strictly. The binary translates to 'SATURDAY 23RD SEPTEMBER, BBC ONE, 6:13PM'.

The official social media accounts have for the last 10 days or so been posting cryptic images with the hashatg #WhoSpy.

One of them has a post-it note saying 'Tues-Thurs 9:30 am'.
There has been some speculation in particular what this means. With the anniversary date on a Thursday, some have speculated that the three specials will air Tuesday-Thursday that week. That does not explain the 9:30 - a rubbish time to air/release Doctor Who whether it was PM or AM. I personally don't think that airing on weekdays or three days back-to-back would suit Doctor Who at all, so I hope that wouldn't happen. I would suspect three Saturdays in a row would be the most likely format.

Finally, the official Instagram account created a broadcast channel on Monday named 'The Subwave Network' inviting very many Doctor Who fans to join (not me though). This is of course a reference to the network used to contact The Doctor and Donna in their final episodes in Series 4; the channel shared a short video of that on Thursday, before sharing another video today confirming that time for the next trailer.

RE: Doctor Who - JMT1985 - 22-09-2023

The 9.30am time can mean that the three specials could drop earlier on BBC iPlayer before prime time transmission, which will most likely be 8 or 9pm.

BBC iPlayer have released content before it gets to air on linear channels

I suspect you're correct, and as many people like to consume story arcs in a binge-fest, they'll just wait for all 3 to drop and then settle down with the popcorn one evening.

RE: Doctor Who - Kim Wexler’s Ponytail - 23-09-2023

If it's supposed to be an event they're not going to drop the show on iplayer when the bulk of their audience has just sat down at school.

RE: Doctor Who - CATV - 23-09-2023

Could it be something to do with Disney+ release time?

RE: Doctor Who - JAS84 - 23-09-2023

There's a good reason why they would. Disney+ releasing it at the exact same time worldwide. In the US, it's overnight, but in Australia, it's prime time, 6.30pm.

It definitely will not be 9pm when kids can't watch. 8pm, I guarantee it.
