CBS Sunday Morning has a new open, where the sun face symbol was made clearer, the title is now in TT Norms and is officially named CBS News Sunday Morning:

The Here Comes the Sun segment, adopting the official CBS News streaming lower thirds:

The main graphics remains the same but not for the mic tags.
NewscastStudio has a story on that:

That is them actually putting the "CBS News" back in the intro ,the program is still called just "Sunday Morning" They took the CBS News Logo off it years ago, though not sure when, but it was gone for a long while.

Here's (from a full episode) the intro in 1998 using the CBS News logo

NewsNation has cancelled its "Early Morning" show. Mitch Carr has left the network too.

Interesting, since the show was on this morning, with Morning in America's Nick Smith.  It would make sense to just collapse the hour in Morning in America, that seemed to be the original plans when they announced their June 2022 schedule, but then swapped out and made this new random hour, instead.

Edit: I posted this , then went to a different site and found out some news about NewsNation, they are adding Markie Martin as Co-Anchor of Morning in America, again oddly not Nick Smith. They'll have to find a new Dallas Correspondant now.  And expanding the show to 4 hours on June 12th.

Can't edit, my last post to add this, NewsNation's "Banfield" has moved to the 2nd floor NYC studio that Vargas uses. I think she was doing a home studio thing since her launch, or a flash set up, they used the Chicago main studio for screens and etc.

Back to CBS, KOVR in Sacramento finally adopted the new O&O graphics, completing the transition. They adopted the WBZ/WCCO way of separate channel and streaming branding, but the box looked comically huge here to my eyes:

The lower thirds on TV looked the same as the other stations, but with a newer ticker more tailored to the channel number box and the CBS News tag:

Their Breaking News opener looked like tacked on though:

Over on Gray, WABI in Maine (CBS) has switched to the new graphics, changing their theme in the process. The studio remains unchanged:

Checked when their 4pm newscast came on to see how it looked on their TV feed
[Image: Screenshot-58.png]

Then they updated their online stream later

That means all the O&O's are done.

Interesting what happened.
KPIX News  became CBS NEWS BAY AREA
KCBS -CBS 2 News became KCAL News
KCAL 9 NEWS became KCAL News
KCNC- CBS 4 NEWS became CBS NEWS Colorado
KTVT- CBS 11 News became CBS News Texas
WFOR-CBS 4 News became CBS NEWS Miami
KYW- CBS 3 EYEWINESS NEWS became CBS News Philadelphia
WCBS- CBS 2 News - stayed that
WBBM- CBS 2 News- stayed that
WCCO - WCCO NEWS - stayed that
WBZ - WBZ NEWS- stayed that
WJZ - WJZ News- stayed that
KDKA- KDKA NEWS - stayed that
KOVR- CBS 13 NEWS- stayed that

WWJ- Brings back news department, called CBS NEWS Detroit

interesting to see how the branding update went,  what stations decided to remove their old branding and what ones didn't.

RE: American News Presentation - sky303 - 26-05-2023

KOVR's sister station, KMAX and Good Day (Sacramento)  didn't change their graphics, not that it used the old CBS style anyway, but they did move the logo bug to the left.

Probably to accommodate it streaming on CBS NEWS Sacramento , where the graphics didn't match up well and looked bad to me, and still looks bad with the change.

They didn't change where the info bubble pops up so the streamer

I always thought they should just drop the CBS NEWS Graphics during Good Day. They could have kept Good Day's unique look but used the new CBS graphics for the lower 3rds... looks better on Channel 31 it's self

Here's how it used to look (on 31 not the streamer)

... and Scripps' CEO looks even further than that:
Quote:As we move through the reorganization, we are aiming to place the company in the best position possible to perpetuate and grow. One way we're working toward this goal is to embark on a bold new effort to reprioritize news and information over the performative aspect of local broadcasts – to put greater emphasis, resources and focus on what we do to connect with and engage our audiences. Through our four-point plan, we will:

Implement a journalism strategy that emphasizes beat reporting and issues of community relevance

Leverage technology so we can reallocate resources to journalism

Invest in journalism by investing in our people

More deeply integrate Scripps News coverage into our local news products
Through this news initiative, we will add about 250 on-the-ground resources to our local reporting teams and invest nearly $10 million to increase compensation where needed to ensure we can attract and retain the best journalists. We are able to make these investments, in part, through technologies that allow us to shift from production resources to more reporters and news-gathering employees.

Tied directly to this work will be a deeper integration of the Scripps News brand and journalism into our local products. While each of our stations will continue to operate as local newsrooms with local brands and network affiliations, they will feel like Scripps News stations. The deployment of our national news operation in support of our local mission will allow for a sharper focus on the reporting and stories that serve our communities and make the markets where we operate better places to live.

Most relevant to put this here: Nick News, Nickelodeon's children news magazine, has a new look at the end of May:

Really fluid graphics - like the small details in using the blocky logotype as the programme frame.

Promo sting for the programme:

Big revamp on Fox News: Steve Hilton's show was cancelled, combined 7pm Weekend Show and new 10pm Fox News Saturday Night incoming on the weekends.
