RE: American News Presentation - sky303 - 02-06-2023

Adding to that Fox News channel...uh news
They are also cutting Fox and Friends First down to 1 hours, Laura Ingle whose been a reporter there since 2005 has been let go. https://www.mediaite.com/tv/details-fox-news-cancels-steve-hiltons-sunday-show-as-network-shakes-up-weekend-lineup/?dg

On Fox Business, "Kennedy" has ended that show was on the air since 2015 , she's staying with the network.

RE: American News Presentation - Charles - 02-06-2023

That's too bad about Laura Ingle. She was an actual reporter there who did actual news.

There's definitely some belt-tightening going on around Fox. Several of their local O&Os have each quietly laid off a handful of senior employees.

KTTC (NBC) in Rochester is the latest receipient in the continuing Gray graphics rollout:

Their neighbours at KXLT (Fox), under an SSA with Gray, also adopted the new package, albeit with some cockups on the sound:

RE: American News Presentation - JMT1985 - 05-06-2023

I am not surprised that Fox "News" has decided to axe the first hour of Fox and Friends First - starting at 4am each day was a pure waste of money, as the audience would be a trickle, maybe a few thousand at best - 5am original start time is best for them, as that is the hour the early risers are up, especially the business people

There, we are finally being given a sneak peek of the new standardized graphics. Like the Meredith standardized package (also designed by Quinn), stations would be able to customize the color palette used for its rendition, but eventually sticking to a design similar to the current Atlanta News First graphics. Stations from certain affiliates can also be able to commission customized variants, including CBS affiliates (like this example from a certain CBS 3, where the design take cues from the network's current brand system) and even Telemundo stations (with customized opens taking cues from Look K, the former Telemundo Local Media package from NBC Arthouse, like an example showcasing KXNV Reno, sister to KOLO). Additionally, lifestyle shows from Gray's legacy stations, as well as Raycom and Quincy holdovers, would switch to the Meredith lifestyle package (like this example showcasing Midwest Access, from former Quincy station KTTC). Stations will be able to retain their existing music packages.

First to get them: CBS border affiliate WCAX in Burlington/Plattsburgh/Montreal, and what an upgrade... With the change, they dropped Momentum News (from Non-Stop Music/WCPM) and switched to Stephen Arnold Music's This is the Place; they still use their local voice-over talent (unidentified).

NewscastStudio has published an interesting interview with Gray hub director Matt Quinn, analyzing the need for the standardized package, including why the need to drop the hodgepodge of packages made by the prior Gray hub in favor of a single design. It also tells how Gray designers, led by chief designer Tristan Bresnen (the same guy which worked on the launch of MiNews 26, NCN Nebraska and NewsNet, and did work for NBC News' Stay Tuned and CBSN), adapted the Atlanta News First package to a standardized package, and how to make it work in two real time graphics systems.

And here's a case study (sourced from Matt Quinn's LinkedIn) which retells how WCAX (the first station to switch to the new look) was able to adopt the new look at the same time it upgraded its graphical systems to Chyron Prime:

KPIX/CBS News Bay Area is now also using the same ticker layout:

Interestesting tidbit. Fox had to payout nearly 800 million for election lies. Now they are fact checking former President Trump in real time. At least on their streaming live news service..
Hilarious. I wonder of the mothership Fox News Channel started to do the same thing.

The new 6-10am format launched today with a fast-paced, middle America-focused format similar to HLN's now-defunct Morning Express, according to Variety:

RE: American News Presentation - London Lite - 13-06-2023

As with all big Florida stories, the Florida local stations prefer to send their own reporters to cover the story rather than use network affiliation to cover the story.

So once again WINK for example sent a reporter from Fort Myers to Miami to cover Trump's hearing.
