Its simply a channel with a presenter that tags and out from live breaking news live streams from various FOX affiliates across the US. its not a traditional talking head anchor channel. So if you get wind of a breaking story in the US.... try there first its very likely they will be carrying the local FOX affiliate news coverage. Its very RAW is not polished. There is dead air and its part of the style of coverage. Its very simple but a good watch or to leave on in the background.

It was made by the station in Phoenix too when it started and really grew into something pretty nation wide and good.

Yeah it was. At the time when it started a couple of the FOX affiliates started similar channels. WFLD and I think the Orlando O&O created similar online channels. The operation from FOX 10 PHOENIX is only one that survived and was rebranded and expanded.

MSNBC is simulcasting Sky News overnight.  The special MSNBC Sky News simulcast logo isn't in the best spot this time.

I don’t know if NBC News Now in the UK rebroadcast Sky (it carried Sky all day through out save for Special Reports) it’s but was the same location. I don’t see why and if they plan to simulcast on occasion make a bug that would go next to the SkyNews.com url on the ticker with a logo saying “on MSNBC” taking up some ticker space”. But I guess it’s so rare it’s not worth it.

Yep - Sky News coverage is on NBC News Now on the two platforms I've got access to which take the separate UK feed whenever there is one.

Interestingly it looks like NBC News Now is taking the online stream of Sky News. The frame rate is noticeably 25/30p instead of 50i (or 60i as it would be via NBC), and it's quite significantly delayed compared to Sky News.

I would have thought by now with the connectivity between NBC and Sky they'd have access to a direct feed of Sky News.

I honestly don’t know if MSNBC taking the actual online feed overnight.  They would have to schedule commercial breaks so there has to be some proper connectivity, talk back unless it’s remotely triggered. But for NBC News Now is probably just taking the quickest source for news and let it play out.
But for viewers in the UK on satellite wouldn’t they have to convert it back to 50i and then uplink. That could be a delay.

Edit. On my Comcast box I have quick access to move back and forth between NBC News Now and Sky News. They’re treated as an internet channel. There was a 1 second delay from Sky’s channel to NBC News Now.

There's over a minute between them here.

Standards conversion only delays things by a few frames, and it's being uplinked from the same facility as Sky News (Sky Chilworth) so the encoding delay between the two will be comparible. Therefore the delay will be on NBC's end.

The ticker is also noticeable jittering, which Sky's YouTube stream does thanks to YouTube's crude 25 fps to 30 fps conversion, which suggests to me they're taking the feed from YouTube. Or they're getting it to NBC in a very similar way to how they feed the web streams.

Some jittering on the Sky News channel (the one on our channel guide which is probably just online) ticker and I frame some frame issues. Couldn’t tell you what it is. Sky on MSNBC has no issue.
