That's another issue surely from the merger too - with the focus on stories of international significance will be far fewer opportunities for regional reporters to get their stories on to the channel.

RE: BBC Local Radio - steve - 15-03-2023

I see the regional tv bulletins have all been cancelled today, which I'm a bit surprised by. Is it most staff in regions who are on strike today, or simply that those in other teams won't cross picket lines?

RE: BBC Local Radio - Andrew - 15-03-2023

It’s anyone in the NUJ who works at a regional base

The original press release did say that regional TV would be effected but everyone seems to have missed it

RE: BBC Local Radio - Steve in Pudsey - 15-03-2023

The late bulletin is still in the schedule.

I guess if a region can get a programme together there's nothing to stop them going ahead?

What about Reporting Scotland, Wales Today and Newsline?

RE: BBC Local Radio - London Lite - 15-03-2023

Gayle Lofthouse on Radio Leeds walked out after the first hour of her show.

Interesting re Gayle Lofthouse, I thought the convention was that you start a shift you finish it, so she would do today but not tomorrow.

Thanks Andrew - yes, I completely missed that fact but makes sense!

Listening around, most of the regular presenters disappeared at 11am.

Plenty of pointed choices made in those final few minutes on Radio Leeds - whether appropriate will depend on your point of view I suspect...!
