Hull Live is suggesting that the East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire Look North scheduled for this evening and hosted by Peter Levy will not go-ahead.

Never heard that, quite a few local presenters ended at 11 so it can't be the case.

Having a quick flick around Sounds most of those programmes continuing are by cover presenters, some for presenters who were due to be off this week anyway. That said is the producers and Broadcast Assistants are striking too they'll be on their own

It was certainly the case during the recent railway disputes, the timing of the strike chosen to cause maximum disruption because it was halfway through a shift.

Not really what I found. Usually the strike days, would be all the services for a given day being effected with it being back to normal the next, albeit with possible late starts due to the trains not being in the correct places overnight. But I guess this might change depending on the area and what unions are taking action.

I think with the railways it’s been the case previously that staff don’t ‘book on’ for a shift during strike hours, but if their shift started before the strike began then they’ll finish it. Can’t imagine it’s especially practical to down tools if you’re a train driver, a strike starts part way through a shift and you’re miles away from your depot/home!

All the regional news programmes are affected, I don't know why Look North Levy would be any different

RE: BBC Local Radio - Steve in Pudsey - 15-03-2023

Last time there was a strike we got a joint Leeds and Hull bulletin, from Leeds but presented by Peter Levy.

RE: BBC Local Radio - JAS84 - 15-03-2023

Presumably the usual Leeds host wasn't willing to cross the picket line, and Peter was, so they told him to get on a train?

RE: BBC Local Radio - Andrew - 15-03-2023

Disappointing they have just thrown the towel in and aren’t doing any regional bulletins at all

I was hoping for some technically bad half baked bulletin read by a member of management who look like they are reading at gun point, that we’ve had previously.

Plymouth managed to get on at lunchtime with Victoria Graham.

Also since when has it been “Local BBC Radio” rather than “BBC Local Radio”?
