He has form for that sort of thing. At his previous station he berated IRN on air once for their 'piss-boiling incompetence'

Presenter Fiona Mills' weekend mid-morning show is to be dropped by Radio Humberside as part of cuts to local radio. Fiona often fills in for other presenters during the week, too.

Aren't all weekend shows going?

This also shows why cutting back obligations in the commercial sector because "the BBC do it" is do dangerous because once those services are gone in the commercial sector down the line the BBC can say the demand isn't there for them to provide the service and cut back themselves.

In commercial radio that I thought was already the case.

For BBC locals I heardvthe other day in feedback it would start in South and East 

I had heard it was to be in four groups. We just don't know when 

1 South & East
2 West, West Midlands, North East
3 London, South East, Yorkshire, East Midlands
4 South West, North West

On feedback the new website structure it was said would start in the summer. But no dates named for the above four groups of areas 

If Devon presenters were to leave in September that may be stage 4, so if true that will all be quite quuck.

Should be at least two in each cluster - 0600-1000 & 1000-1400 - with less sharing 1000-1400 than at 0600-1000

The original plan was

0600-1000 10 shows shared as follows:

Aside from live matchday coverage, BBC Radio Bristol also has 1-hour magazine programmes for fans of local football & rugby teams at 6pm on certain weeknights as follows:

Tues: "The Scrum" (Bristol Bears & Bath Rugby).
Thurs: "Having a Gas" (Bristol Rovers FC).

I suspect that some/many/most other BBC Local Radio stations may also have equivalent programmes to the above. It is unclear to me whether the protected "live sports programmes" after the cuts will include the above, or whether it's literally only live matchday coverage that will survive whilst these magazines are axed.

Can't answer for certain, but a similar show on Radio York and Radio Humberside is set to have a new host. So maybe they will stay, unless this ends with the cutbacks at the end of the cricket season in the Autumn?
