Same here, it would of been a good way to send out a message to management.

To be honest, the NUJ’s actions have been more far effective (and over a longer term) in disrupting regional TV rather than local radio.

Fair to say these merged regional programmes have gone down as well as the merged news channel.

I’m amazed at how they’re struggling to implement the split links. This is something commercial radio has been doing for decades now. It’s not pioneering, experimental technology. How are they making such a bad job of it?

This Tweet sums it up for me…

I wouldn't be surprised if the will to make it work within the English local radio stations isn't there. A cynical person might even go as far as to suggest possible deliberate sabotage to ensure the shared programming fails.

 Barely noticed outside the industry?

There were also rumours that when GMG added networking to Real Radio Scotland, that networked shows from Manchester were being sabotaged by staff in Glasgow which led to ads not being played or losing the feed. When GMG reversed the decision but kept the weekend evening shows, suddenly there were no issues with it.

Radio Solent posted an advert on Facebook earlier for a presenter/producer to join the team. The comments are people asking why they're hiring when they've got rid of the previous on air presenters.
