Really surprised we've not seen any at BBC News yet either, though these do feel like after the horse has bolted.

Suspect Eurovision might be targetted too, especially with the "volunteers" from elsewhere in the BBC inu se.

I dont think Eurovision will be too much of an issue.

No, this is industrial action from local radio NUJ staff. Apart from whatever Radio Merseyside are planning there's no way it would affect the ESC, (and even they wouldn't jeopardise coverage of such a big event)

Any BBC input into the ESC will be from BBC Studios

Budget Day seems to be a strange choice of strike day. You would assume that the most likely outcome will be programmes being shared between stations, wouldn't doing that on a "normal" day rather than one where the news agenda is dominated by national events (and a bit of token local reaction) have more impact in demonstrating the impact of the proposed cuts?

It's about headlines though isn't it - striking on budget day, for the Coronatio or in the Eurovision week, is more likely to grab headlines than a random day in a random week.

What will we do without “What did the chancellors budget mean for voters in our region, we went live to a cafe in…”

The union thinks it will make big headlines but surely clashing with the budget means it will make less of a headline, same with RMT who are also striking on budget day

The RMT are only striking on Budget Day on London Underground which was affected by strike action by ASLEF anyway.

I don't think a strike is possible - who would cover? I think Stephen Cole and D'Oiley Osman are both retired.
