Not sure when this happened, but it seems that RTE News Now has had its name shortened to just RTE News.

Been this way since August 2020.

Can't have.  It was still RTE News Now as late as December last year, and I'm viewing this on the RTE News app.

Honestly, it happened on 30th August 2020. You’d be forgiven for not noticing though, it didn’t mean much other than the “Now” being chopped off the logo.

I have seen that channel many times since that date, and every time I looked, it was branded RTE News Now. I don't know what to say. I'm not imagining this. Today was the first time to my eyes, it had been noticeably branded just RTE News. I don't think this is some kind of Mandela Effect, I just don't get it.

We all get things wrong sometimes.

The Six-One titles were played out during the start of the Nine O'Clock News on RTÉ One tonight.

Nice to see Caitriona Perry back on the Six One News on RTÉ 1 this evening.

Alas, she’s now off to Washington and the BBC News channel, as already mentioned elsewhere.

No real obvious candidate to replace her, though Vivienne Traynor’s been the understudy of late.
