Alas, she’s now off to Washington and the BBC News channel, as already mentioned elsewhere.

No real obvious candidate to replace her, though Vivienne Traynor’s been the understudy of late.
I’d like to see Sharon Tobin get the gig. She did the job while Caitriona Perry was on maternity leave.

Turns out tonight was Perry’s last bulletin - I don’t think it was signposted in advance.

She did post about it on Twitter earlier

And here's her final sign off

Did Tubridy's final Late Late Show make the RTE News headlines? I wonder how his last show went down?

RE: Irish TV News Discussion 2.0 - TVenthusiasm - 27-05-2023

Indeed it did

It got a report alright, before the sports news in the last segment of yesterdays Six One.

As for the show itself, not really the thread to discuss it but I personally thought the middle segment went a bit too much into the “misery slot” type feature that unfortunately became a hallmark of Tubridy’s later years. The opening and final sentiments were very good, and U2 (or half of them anyway) made their trademark appearance via a pre record from the US.

Today the One O Clock RTE News was at... 12:30?

It can move around on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays depending on the timings of programmes before and after it. The One O’Clock News is a wrap-around name for the purposes of categorising it on the RTÉ Player.

Couldn't RTE have a catch all name such as "RTE Lunchtime News"?
