The 6 used to have a long close before they went to the regions too. This from April 2004:

This was definitely phased out by the Barco launch in May 2006.

They’d stopped that by around 2005 I believe.

The Oscars special goes on after The Film Review was axed, but with a new title music and the old bed…

Yes it was nice to see Jane Hill and Jason Solomons back on screen talking about films.

It's been a while since Ros Atkins went on OS... he's still not on OS tonight but he made an explainer piece tonight on the Gary Lineker story... Not sure if it's green screen or an actual balcony, the lightning is a bit weird and the audio is crystal clear with no background noise. Since Studio A is currently under maintenance, I'm not sure how can the balcony cameras be accessed from...
If it's green screen... can the OS team use this green screen setup in a clip studio instead of using that fake newsroom backdrop in Studio C? The programme's setup is super basic anyways, so why not add some variety in backdrops?

It seems the BBC 100 Women programme airing at 20:30 tonight had a rather short run time, ending at 20:52. This led into to a three minute weather forecast, followed by a full five minutes of:
- Promo for Our World
- Promo for Panorama
- Promo for BBC News app
- Promo for The Big Cases crime genre on iPlayer
- Promo for BBC Weather app
- Promo for podcasts on BBC Sounds app
- 70 second news countdown
During this time, Sky News was carrying live a joint defence and security announcement by the US President, Australian Prime Minister, and British Prime Minister.
Back on BBC News, World News America started and led on the collapse of SVB Bank. They didn't carry the three world leaders' press conference live at all. A bit unusual.

Annita McVeigh posted a photo of the newsroom onto Twitter a few days ago. In the top left the OS logo is visible, but it looks as if the plasma may have moved. I wonder if that studio is back in service and if they're currently trailing it with explainers? https://twitter.com/AnnitaBBC/status/1633392320555933696

Shame it didn't finish at 20:40. Then we could have had TWO showings of the guide dogs feature tonight.

BBC Website saying The Context was on at 9pm, but it was BBC World News America.
