True, forgot they can just move the national services to the nightlight right away. And the Nations can theoretically also just switch to the nightlight for SD viewers, because they already got HD equivalents.

At this moment only Northern Ireland could because Northern Ireland is the only one with audio description on both BBC1 HD and BBC2 HD.

No AD yet present on bbc1 Wales BBC2 Wales or BBC1 Scotland in hd.

Don't the SD versions have Audio Description? Its not as if the resolution is important to most of those who rely on AD

RE: BBC phasing out SD services on satellite in 2023 - Jimbo2022 - 11-01-2023

Radio services started today in 10847V and 11023H

10847V

6985 Radio Scotland
6986 Radio nan Gaidheal
6987 Radio Wales

11.023H

8861 Radio 1
8962 Radio 2
8963 Radio 3
8964 Radio 4 FM
8965 Radio 5 Live
8966 Asian Network

Unfortunately these are also in MPEG2 at the same bitrates as for the SD muxes. A missed opportunity for better quality sound - or could it be intentional so that announcements can be put on the Nightlight ones?

Incidentially the entries for the new HD services on the Freesat Test EPG were removed today.

EDIT: Scratch that, they added them again.

Curiosity question - how do people know where to look for the Freesat test channels? Is there a secret postcode that points to the test region? Or does it require specialist knowledge/equipment?

Maybe just a satellite card linked to dvbdream and you can analyse the info that way
