Major management reshuffle at WBD UK: Antonio Ruiz has left the company to return to Spain (according to his LinkedIn, he left in May). To replace him, WBD has selected WBD Sports Europe GM Andrew Georgiou. He will still run Eurosport and TNT Sports with his duties in the UK channels.

Additionally, Priya Dogra (European manager) has exited the company after 14 years. Gerhard Zeiler is taking direct oversight of the EMEA division going forward.

Quote:A spokesperson for Warner Bros. Discovery responded to EW's request for comment on the matter, stating, "There is no confusion as to who initiated the meeting. Despite some unfounded rumors you may have seen, David was a key architect and supporter of this arrangement – he loves TCM as a viewer and believes [Warner Bros. execs] Mike [De Luca], Pam [Abdy] and the directors will further elevate the TCM brand and programming."

Regardless of who initiated it, out of that meeting came news of a reversal of sorts: Creative oversight of TCM moved from the WBD TV networks side to Warner Bros. Pictures bosses De Luca and Abdy, and the three filmmakers-turned-TCM guardians agreed to enter a partnership to help curate the channel. Then, nearly a week later, even better news for TCM lovers came: senior VP of programming and content strategy Charles Tabesh would not be part of the layoffs after all.

The move has confirmed in mid-June: De Luca, Abdy, Spielberg, Scorsese, Anderson and Tabesh will take turns to program the channel. Worth noting the business side remains within Kathleen Finch and Michael Ouweleen's oversight, but programming and creative management is indeed going to Warner Bros. Entertainment.

Even with WBD's backing, TV3 in New Zealand is in financial turmoil... Again.

I think they need another sale to a company that isn't run by Zaslav.

That explains the axing of the early and lunchtime NewsHub bulletins then.

I remember Network Ten did the same to save costs after the Wake Up breakfast show flopped.

Out went the late, early and morning news on weekdays. They also closed their Los Angeles and London bureaux.

WBD N.Z./Three isn't in quite the same situation as Ten was in, in actual fact, There in much worse shape than Ten.

In addition to its own news outputs, Newshub also produces Prime News for Sky Network Television. This will soon be rebranded as News First and continued on Sky Open.

WBD have rebranded Boomerang to Cartoonito in Northern Europe (Norway, Sweden, Denmark), Turkey, North Africa & the Middle East since Monday.

The rebrand has not happened in the UK or Ireland yet. However I wouldn't be surprised if it happened to the pay TV operators EPG's here very soon.

??

Cartoonito exists already in the UK, Boomerang and Cartoonito will both coexist in the UK for the time being..

Many countries had no Cartoonito before, and Cartoonito is now the second kids brand for WBD, therefore the rebrand

I always thought Cartoonito was pre-school programming, while Boomerang hosted new takes on old cartoons such as Looney Tunes and Scooby Doo, so it would seem very strange if they both merged here. It is interesting to note though that the logos and branding have changed in the footer on the CN and Cartoonito websites to reference WBD but Boomerang still references Turner. This makes me wonder if Boomerang has a long-term future or not...
