And we have a new studio logo, well sort of: it is a new version of the 2021 opening logo, launched coinciding with the release of Wonka; it is virtually identical to the 2021 opening logo (including the rendition of the As Time Goes By fanfare by Ludwig Göransson), down to the fact it has been made by Devastudios (who also did the 2021 version), but the Pentagram shield has been replaced with a modernised version of the 1948/1984 shield design, adding a banner with the studio name including the WBD shield by Chermayeff & Geismar & Haviv), and the cold tones have been replaced with more muted, warmer shades.

This example has no sound as it has been extracted from a Devastudios Instagram reel showcasing the new animation, which was later posted to YouTube. Moreover, the Television logo has also been changed, introduced with S2E3 of Night Court:

Max will presumably arrive in Latin America by February, with cable networks in the region already alerting of the change to HBO pack subscribers:

Actually, this new logo will introduce a new fanfare composed by Jacob Yoffee.

Max will begin a crackdown of password sharing, a la Netflix last year.

France and Belgium will also become the first non-HBO Max territories to get the new Max service, will launch on Summer, before the Games
We have an exact date for Max's further rollout: First to the Nordics, Central and Eastern Europe in May 21, then Poland, France, the Netherlands and Belgium in June. Specifically the HBO Max name is kept in the last two, not to be confused with existing broadcasters (Omroep MAX and VRT Max respectively).

3 new French dramas were also announced to boost its debut profile.

Interestingly, MAX channel in Norway has been renamed to REX ahead of the rollout.

Why didn't they do that two months ago when MAX Norway changed it's logo?

That's interesting to know indeed

Maybe there were some popularity issues?
And they've realized recently they didn't want any possible confusion?

Interesting bit about Sky in that article:

Quote:The rights picture in the UK is complicated, with Sky the exclusive distributor of most HBO content through its lucrative licensing deal with WBD. That agreement ends in two years, but it is believed certain shows such as House of the Dragon are tied to Sky via ‘life of series’ agreements, meaning the platform will continue to show them regardless of a wider deal.

Last year, Sky CEO Dana Strong has said she was “optimistic” that the Comcast-owned company’s UK division can keep hold of HBO content when the deal comes up for renewal in 2026. It is likely the pair will look to form some type of agreement, with one source suggesting Max could be carried exclusively on the Sky pay-TV platform.

I think ultimately Sky will pay over the odds to keep HBO content in two years time. Barely any of Sky's originals have cut through in a way that numerous HBO shows have and I think the entertainment (i.e. non sport and movies) side of the platform is going to seriously struggle without HBO content so I don't think we'll ever see Max launched here in the same way it has been elsewhere (as in anyone can sign up for it without needing to be part of another service).

I wonder if they might opt to do a deal with WBD to offer Max free to Sky users who currently receive Sky Atlantic. This would then enable Max to be launched in the UK and available to everyone.

I think a joint venture with Sky is more likely than offering yet another streaming service.
