There is an RTL France. They own a radio station (the most-listened to in France) and a TV station called RTL9, among other outlets.
The TV station was sold to Mediawan (AB1) back in 2017 though:

Not too sure how the licensing of the RTL brand between the two work though, probably unaffected from the rebrand.

Also in the US: Peachtree TV (WPCH-TV), the former TBS local station and now Gray's indie duopoly with WANF, got a redesign on its roadsign symbol:

Stumbled across this: Another cable channel from SBS, FunE's rebrand back in late 2021:

Meanwhile, JTV, their regional affiliate in Jeonju, had a small rebrand back in September for their 25th birthday, dropping the orange for a single light blue:

Not only the logos are changed, all other graphics are changed too. The font used for all graphics is a bespoke font, called RTL United, which will be used for the numbers in the logos and onscreen text.

The RTL United project started in 2021 when RTL Deutschland adapted this new brand. RTL Hungary followed in 2022. RTL Netherlands is the next one.

Please note, as this has not yet been officially announced, the exact launch date is uncertain.

For me it's interesting that they wrote the channel numbers with "4" and "5". Here in Hungary for some reason they didn't. We have RTL KETTŐ (kettő=two) and RTL HÁROM (három=three). They could've just been RTL 2 and RTL 3

The hungarian solution sounds better if you ask me. Having a single digit tacked on to that wide logo makes it look very unbalanced.

Same in Germany with RTL UP. That logo just doesn't work if the suffix is too short.

Maybe if they added a fourth box and put the number in that... but I see why they didn't want that as it would dilute the master brand. Almost seems like these lockups weren't considered enough in the design process.

RE: International Presentation - JAS84 - 11-04-2023

Worse, RTL Up was actually renamed when the RTL logo changed, it used to be RTL Plus but they named their streaming service that thus necessitating a rebrand for the channel.

RE: International Presentation - orange - 11-04-2023

I wonder if this means Videoland is going to be absorbed into the RTL+ umbrella.

I think i’m getting cold feet about the whole thing a wee bit - RTL Nederland has always had it’s own distinct style and Dutch charm, and i’m not sure shoehorning it all into the United branding will be entirely convincing.

That, and i’m also getting a little bored of every network suddenly deciding to wipe away any ounce of personality from their family of channels and unifying everything - it’s ok to make things distinct.

I hope not! For those who don't know, Videoland was a big chain of video rental stores across the Netherlands. At some point, they started a VOD service, which RTL bought into and eventually took over fully. It is a very well-known brand over there, and (IMO) RTL would be mad to do away with it. (Which means they probably will...)

I too dislike how RTL Nederland is being 'German-ified' - whilst the three squares are obviously a very strong brand in the German-speaking world, they are not so in the Netherlands. Anyway RTL Nederland has its own cohesive brand. I fear this will be a big mistake.

We haven't been speaking about "German-ification of the RTL brand when Hungary partook in it. Besides, the German RTL is technically the most sucessful to carry the RTL name, so a design strategy centered around them might actually make some sense. Also, RTL Nederland's brand design is cool and all, but the channels need a dunk in the water for their designs. The Dutch public Broadcasting system have better channel and broadcaster logos than RTL. The only ground I will yield to RTL is branding for their news services, because it's straight up apple juice. NOS really needs a rebrand. And a new gong sound. It's getting pretty old.

The difference here is that RTL Hungary's brand has always been much more closely aligned to (but not the same as) that of the German RTL. Dutch RTL, on the other hand, has never had any similarities branding-wise to the German arm - so it's a much bigger change there. Yes, RTL Germany is the most successful arm, but does that really have any relevance to Dutch viewers? I don't think so.

Then they probably won't care. RTL Nederland has had a shifting view of their identity throughout its lifetime. I mean, they once had the 5-note RTL jingle in their newscasts, then they stopped using them. Though in my opinion, they really need to bring it back, after Belgium stopped using it.
