Another one?!

Doesn't feel that long ago when they canned ABC2 for ABC Comedy.

RE: International Presentation - VMPhil - 03-01-2024

I mean, "ABC TV Plus" is a pretty dreadful design-by-committee name.

Couple of Argentine regional public stations relaunched since the new government last year.

Santa Fe Canal has rebranded as RTS, replacing the purple blob with warmer colours and patterns. This is their celebrity sting, promo and ident:

Canal Trece in San Luis, meanwhile, was renamed to San Luis+ earlier last month.

They, indeed, rebranded Color Visión. This is their case study on that, which has some prototypes that thankfully didn't make it:

This is pretty clever over in Germany.

The female-skewed station, Sixx, recently ran a separate promo running lately that the SD feed on satellite will be switched off (terrestrial TV feed already in HD), along with web link to explain the changes to continue watching the channel. The HD feed on the other hand has a similar promo but explains to the viewers that they're not affected.

The SD feed isn't switched off ... it will just change frequency. In Germany, unless you are a Sky subscriber, you lack a centralised Freesat-style EPG system where stuff like this happens automatically. Most people just have generic FTA set top boxes and on wich they sort the channels themselves. That's why evertime should a channel change frequency they have to run campaigns like this.

Also I wouldn't expect German channels to shut down SD for quite some time ... expecially commercial ones, as they still have HD behind paywall. So an SD shutdown would mean loss of veiwers for them.

Looks like Australia's Channel Nine might have a rebrand on the cards, considering the Paris Olympics are looming closer.
Gone is the 3D, in comes a flat 2D logo with a blue gradient.
They've only started using this on their socials but not so sure if it's on TV yet.

NHK BS8K is still on the air for now.

Despite NHK stopping regular programming on BS Premium, it seems the channel is being utilized again, albeit only temporarily. After the recent earthquake, the broadcaster would start airing a simulcast of Kanazawa (Ishikawa) opt-out of NHK General TV from January 12, as relay transmitters in the affected areas were either badly damaged or had run out of backup fuel for their generators.

Prior to the decision of having a full simulcast, it was supposed to air only select news programming aired on NHK General TV (both nationally and on the Kanazawa opt-out) between January 9-11.

Here's how the first full news bulletin from Kanazawa opt-out of NHK General went on air on the former BS Premium.

Sunday night The CW unveils a new look and a redrawn logo from DixonBaxi. Finally, the branding will be simplified to say "CW" only. The rebrand, which coincides with the network's broadcast of the Critics' Choice Awards, marks the next stage on the network's transformation under Nexstar.

RE: International Presentation - JAS84 - 14-01-2024

That was accidentally revealed on December 6th! They tweeted a trailer for a new show. Old logo on screen for most of it, but the new one appears at the end, presumably it should've been the old one.

Nice to see a bit of spice being added to the CW! It was always a bit of a mixed-bag in terms of branding. Hopefully they can get the affiliates back on board in areas where the network name isn't as prominent. Looking forward to seeing this evolve.

(Incidentally, is it just me, or does DixonBaxi remind anyone else of boilers? I know why it does, but it gets me every time Tongue)
