RE: GB News - freeview87 - 14-06-2023

I had little faith two years ago and ironic that on their second birthday they proved,to me anyway, that they can cover a major developing story in the UK well.

The coverage was measured in most parts (daytime), with various live reports, discussing a variety of possibilities and generally keeping on top of what was coming in.

I agree. I mean, I will admit I like GB News, but I’m not blind to their shortcomings.

I wasn’t expecting them to handle the Nottingham incident as well they did, but it was indeed very good (as was Sky).

BBC was the letdown here I am very sad to say. Not terrible, but not as good as I expected.

I don’t believe there’s anything stopping anyone from using it but it’s in very poor taste.

Its GB News, as Long as he didnt mention his surname I guess they could just about get away with it

RE: GB News - derek500 - 14-06-2023

Jim Davidson just mentioned his ex-wife (he's had several), then I remembered he used to be married to Alison Holloway, who was the original presenter of Sky World News Tonight with the great Scott Chisholm.

Did Wootton shut him down or secretly get excited as his name being made public would make this story, which is flagging everywhere else except GB News, get going again

I don't think there's any official injuction in place to prevent identifying him, just that most of the media have chosen not to in an effort to protect his privacy, even if it does only take a matter of seconds to find it out yourself.

RE: GB News - gottago - 15-06-2023

I’m pretty sure the press have avoided naming him in case it’s later found out he was the victim of a sexual offence, in which case he has the right to anonymity for life. I highly doubt it’s just to protect his privacy, the tabloid press normally have no interest in protecting that.

So yes in that case GB News have broken that anonymity.
