Interestingly, Peter Andre - who has appeared a handful of times covering for others who are on holiday - makes the cut, while 'suspended' Dan Wootton is nowhere to be seen.

Make of that what you will...!

Dan Wootton is on there. Towards the bottom.

He was definitely missing earlier, as seen here:

Bizarre. Someone must've jumped the gun in removing him, leading to the change being reversed. Perhaps they want to make an official statement first.

RE: GB News - Scrotnig - 23-12-2023

It’s pretty obvious he won’t be back. Perhaps they will never officially say. The whole thing has not been handled well.

It's probably a tricky situation for GB News. Sacking him would probably be a HR nightmare. One assumes he's still in contract, and it's reasonable to assume Dan is in regular contact with his lawyers at present.

Easier to pay him whilst suspended, and not renew his contract when it expires. That way they can also claim they never sacked him over the Fox incident, or the "other allegations".

I dare say someone jumped the gun with the website. Then either Dan or someone higher up noticed his absence from that page, and quickly added him to the bottom of the list. That way keeping up the line of him only being suspended.

Andrew Doyle trending today, partly because he seems to have blocked everyone on Twitter and partly for this stunt on Christmas Day - I say stunt because I assume it was planned, but he's either quite angry or acts it a bit too well

I saw the whole show live. I’m still undecided on whether it was planned or not. I think it was….effectively they each hosted a third of the show each, and the Paul chap said on Twitter the night before “this could be chaos”, or words to that effect.

But, it was scarily well acted by Doyle, it has to be said.

I think the guy who got pushed off the chair coming back into wave at the end of that clip, and the main anchor returning at all in a jovial manner were the big clues that it was all planned. Indeed a Tweet/X/<whatever> Doyle has put up since says it was a "sketch".

And anyway he wouldn't be the first on-air individual (news or otherwise) to throw their toys out of a pram and storm off. A certain other contributor who now features on Talk TV did that...

Yes I see it’s been confirmed. I was 90% sure for the reasons you state, though with GB News you can never quite rule these things out at first….

It was very well done…whether it’s a professional thing to be doing, even at Christmas, is another matter. I know there’s been a running gag of Doyle and Shaffer bickering on the show though.

Yes…though I felt that was a set up at the time. Obviously he really did quit but it still felt set up.

It's not exactly what people normally want at Christmas is it? These sorts of things only work of there's a bit of humour, it just comes across very mean spirited on such a day

I agree, whilst it was very well performed by all, it left me feeling a bit uneasy. I’d rather they didn’t do this. Headliners is supposed to be a humorous show discussing serious topics but there wasn’t much humour in this “sketch”.

I like Andrew Doyle though, and the two panellists involved. So I’ll still be watching.
