GBNews appear to be staying on air this new year to ring in 2024. GB News New Year's Eve Live is listed from 9pm - 12.30am

If memory serves me right the past two new years they have stopped broadcasting live just before midnight which is standard.

Only other time they've gone live after midnight was day Queen Elizabeth died.

Stephen Dixon will now be doing Thrusday Breakfast from next week in addition to Friday-Sunday. He will be joined by Ellie Costello on Thursday.

Does that mean Eamonn and Isabel changing to a three day week?

RE: GB News - Kendal87 - 31-12-2023

I would imagine Eamonn is reducing down to 3 days a week and Isabel will anchor with Stephen on Thursday. Sad to see the King of breakie telly reduce his hours.

Now the Christmas decorations have gone, the Westminster studio has added coloured panels between the screens.

Yes, they officially announced at the end of todays show that age and early mornings are taking its toll so they have cut down from a 4 day week to a 3 day week. Same goes for Isabelle I think they said it's Elle and Stephen tomorrow. A decent combo to be fair.

Reading between the lines I can't help but wonder if there's some cost cutting going on, I can't imagine Eamonn was a cheap hire.

It was actually quite funny, as soon as it turned twelve they cut over to the fireworks, but before the studio audio was cut, you could hear Lewis Schaffer (sp) complaining "so we don't even get to...." which I took as meaning he was primed to shout in the new year, and after three hours of build up instead they got replaced with big ben and the fireworks. So the extra 12:00 - 12:30 airtime was really just for continuities sake and to include the fireworks.

I think he only did a 3 day week for his many of his latter years on GMTV

Stephen’s Tweet states his Thursday show is with Ellie.

The New Year's Eve rating seems to be a technical error and Barb will issue new figures soon.
