RE: GB News - London Lite - 12-03-2023

Dolan as seen in that clip after Christys homophobic comment just wheeled out another supposed trope from memory as if it's almost robotic.

He was doing his regular show last week, covering for Dan Wootton in the evening and then on air again yesterday and seemingly tonight too.

He'll be giving Tim Willcox a run for his money at this rate.

Seems Patrick has no home life - he is the US talk show legend Jay Leno of GB News - a man who works and works and works, and has no down time - Patrick seems to be the Poundland version of Jay Leno.

Probably because no-one likes him.

Patrick that is, not Jay. I'm sure Jay is very popular.

Given that he seems to crave air time, and it saves GB News the hassle of finding someone else, it's win-win!

RE: GB News - Jon - 13-03-2023

Had a look at the beginning of Free Speech nation to see if the Free Speech absolutists would defend his right to say what he said. The line from Andrew Doyle was along lines of ‘Lineker signed a contract which means he can’t attack the government’, which I don’t think seems to be true. But you just know if he’d said something they’d agreed with about gender ideology he agreed with, he’d be incensed even if the contract forbid It and incensed that contract forbid it. I expect these kind of inconsistencies from the right wing shock jocks, but Doyle is supposedly left leaning and presents himself as more measured than those. I imagine there is a fear of a Fox News style backlash from viewers.

And watching the start of that ‘Alternative MOTD’ and at least Eamonn Holmes stuck up for Lineker in his short down the line interview. With the hosts admitting he’d been getting 48 hours of stick from the channel till that point.

Short being the operative word! It was comedy gold, though. Eamonn's enthusiasm...! "Err, yeah, keep it up, lads..."

RE: GB News - KrazyKei - 13-03-2023

Whilst I have no objection to a comedic look at news, I think this has gone too far. I'm starting to think that there should be a clear out of the editorial side and re-look at the way GB News is offered to the public. The comedy side should just be limited with Headliners (which is better than the other paper review shows).

I never thought I would say this but I think Angelos Frangopoulos and Mick Booker should consider their positions. When GB News started up, us who are right of centre were desperate for this to work and I thought they got it spot on with Brazier, Farage and Mark Longhurst etc. Now, they just want to be an opinion channel with too much comedy which is becoming tedious.

I want a news channel who would just deliver the news in a factual and fast-paced manner whilst continuing with the likes of Farage in the evening.

What comment?

I saw a lame joke that GL would be at home in Brighton,  home of Pride Flags and wokery.  Couldn't class this homophobic by any stretch - and I say that with personal experience.

A raft of people with that same “personal experience” - as you put it - would disagree:
