It fit properly before. That was their style.

Yea I know it was their style. But it wasn't a good one.

I have to say, GBN’s purple graphics in use at the moment do look rather nice.

I still maintain it looks like PowerPoint, with the type properly fitting the box or not. Awful piece of design.

For the lower thirds I’d be inclined to agree (although you do get used to them).

As others have said though, pretty much everything other than the supers looks good.

RE: GB News - PERMOTIO - 20-09-2022

Not sure whether this is because of their ongoing Queen coverage, but GB News seems to have cancelled its usual midmorning/afternoon schedules and replaced with new shows. Some nice pres and good to see them continue to experiment, favouring more experienced presenters.

There's no way they could compete with the likes of Sky or the BBC, and some of their presenters are very questionable, but I found their coverage of the Queen's Death and Funeral quite well done for a new channel.

(Looks like I missed a few posts a few pages back!)

Seems to have been a temporary change - back to normal today.

RE: GB News - TMD_24 - 21-09-2022

Lawrence Fox is covering for Farage over the next two weeks as Farage is off to Australia. (Yikes!)

Really, I'd love to know what is so special about GB News that everyone and their dog is seemingly itching to go and work there. Do they support the channel's values? Are they being paid really well? Perhaps GB News is more in tune with the public than its detractors like to make out?

I notice they've actually added some rolling news to daytime now. I suppose the 'all opinion, all the time' format just didn't work? It is nice to see Mark Longhurst on TV again, I must say.

It does frustrate me in many ways. I do think GB News could be utterly fantastic in the right hands - with Sky News being as drab as it is now, and BBC News effectively closing down next year, we could really do with a decent UK news channel that is lively and breaks lots of stories. They certainly have a lot of good presenters. I just wish they would move away from the focus on opinion (and let's face it, a certain kind of opinion). There are plenty of other outlets for that stuff.

The money for talent still must be good to attract execs of her calibre.
