RE: GB News - derek500 - 23-05-2023

For the first year of Sky Glass, they had regular adverts for it on GB News and the channel wasn't even available on it!!

Now, GB News is available on Sky Glass and the newer Sky Stream. It's also now available on Sky Go.

Well, well, well! Dan Wootton breaking the six-figure mark for the first time that I've known about (please feel free to correct me if I am wrong).

....and Celia Walden, a regular Monday guest on Wootton,  getting more than double her husband's ratings.

Whatever we think of his style and politics, Mr Wootton certainly knows his audience and how to attract them - he is the most popular show on GB "News" and he is probably the most controversial on GB "News".

RE: GB News - Brekkie - 23-05-2023

He's basically a poor mans Tucker Carlson. He may be gloating now but he's the sort of character who'll likely end up on the wrong end of a firing sooner or later. Then I don't think there are many in the media who haven't experienced being the victim of an axing at least once during their career.

In his daily Phillip Schofield section, Someone brought up Caroline Flack which was awkward, you should have seen Dan’s face

He also tried to move on quickly and put words in his mouth when Jim McDonald unexpectedly didn’t stick the boot in, so he didn’t

I took the liberty of rewinding the live feed (whilst holding my nose) and took a screenshot of the face in question...

RE: GB News - JMT1985 - 23-05-2023

Dan is the problem for me with GB "News" - all the others I can sort of tolerate, as even though I disagree a lot with what they stand for at GB "News", at least the others (maybe Neil Oliver, Mark Dolan and Patrick Christys excluded) I can actually tolerate, even Rees Mogg is more tolerable than Wootton.

Dan's shock jock show at 9pm each night is the problem - I remember those two short weeks when Andrew Neil was on at 8pm and he would handover to "Dan the Man" as he called him, and it was like watching a proper journalist hand over to a hack fake journalist from the David Icke website

RE: GB News - KrazyKei - 23-05-2023

Well the facts don't lie. Dan has cracked the six-figure threshold. I'm pretty sure Nigel has done the same in the past but again, please correct me if I am wrong.

I'm not sure if it's possible that GB News will crack the seven-figure threshold on a regular basis in the distant future but if it were to happen, could that mean big-money advertising on the linear channel?

GB News would have to persuade mainstream advertisers who have boycotted the channel since the early days to come back, but would they cut back on the crankery to placate them?
