I read last night that the Lineker suspension was done against the wishes of the sports department, by higher ups who went over their heads. She's likely raging about the situation and the reputational damage that's been done.

There are suggestions that even the streamlined MOTD might not be able to air tonight

Serious question - has Coast been shown at all by the beeb since Neil Oliver turned out to have some… interesting ideas about the world?

Maybe that was their intention? We know News staff have their own grievances over neutering to appease the government that’s also responsible for the brutal cuts that are taking place. Maybe it’s been a stitch up? Though messy and whether it was intentional or not, for concerned and disgruntled BBC staff, this has been way more effective than any planned quiet strikes would have been.

It still is (mainly revisions), including with Neil.

Premier League Productions make a highlights/round-up show, so the BBC could perhaps put this to air instead of a BBC Sport MOTD production? (Assuming that the PLP show is ready to air by 10.30pm)
