It’s hard to imagine how Davie (and co.) can survive this now. This is just snowballing and snowballing - there’s now a massive mistrust in the BBC and it’s not just going to go away if they cover their eyes and ears.

Sky News ticker says the presenters have pulled out of "tonight's Final Score". I wonder how long until it changes to "this afternoon's Final Score" or even "today's Final Score".

Times like these we miss World of Sport, ITV should mount a special results programme for ten to five tonight! Shame no Dickie Davies though.

A stand off benefits nobody, especially now as all of the talent are controlling the ability of the BBC to deliver output for the viewers.

It needs to be resolved today - no ifs ands or buts. If the pressure cooker wasn’t at 11 last night, the stands taken by the Football Focus and Final Score teams over the last few hours means things have reached boiling point.


It is utterly untenable for this fiasco to be dragged out into tomorrow and potentially putting coverage of a 1 v 2 Women’s Super League game in jeopardy.

You can’t use this week as a indication/guide as to what the merged service will be like when it properly launches since the combined service at the moment doesn’t have the ability to do breakaways for UK viewers.

Damien Grammaticus standing outside Broadcasting House (of course) captioned as ‘Live: London’ don’t think I’ve ever seen that on a domestic BBC service before, it’d usually be ‘Broadcasting House’ or ‘Westminster’ or ‘The Old Bailey’.

Yes, there is World Feed (PLP) commentary, and the BBC are beholden to that given that their own commentators are boycotting the show. But the point I was making was that if they can’t sort out the production staff to make the BBC highlights edits/make the programme (even without a studio contribution) then they may have to put out a pre-packaged PLP programme instead.

…which would be highly embarrassing. (I suppose all of this is, mind you!)

ITV had a results programme more recently than that. When they were airing The Premiership with Des Lynam in place of the BBC's Match of the Day. When they lost the highlights and MOTD returned, the results programme also went off air.
