This is like when the matches had no fans during the pandemic and all we could hear was the commentators, but now the other way around

Network did that too.

This programme reflects just how embarrassing the BBC's decision making has got up to this point with this saga.

I imagine that BBC management might have been keeping a close eye on tonight's programme, and would have taken a very dim very of that.

Yes - back when Clarkson-era Top Gear imploded, I recall Andy Wilman (exec producer) saying they literally had an executive looking over their shoulder in the edit suite for the final mop-up episode, in case they misbehaved. I wouldn't be entirely surprised to hear that something similar happened tonight...

Of course, the senior people in charge at the Premier League will undoubtedly have a view on how their 'product' has been presented too!

Somewhat surprised they didn’t show the teams at the start of each match, or on a graphic at the bottom.

I got a prompt on Freeview to press the red button for Radio 1 Relax, perhaps that would have been a nice soundtrack for proceedings.

Sportscene highlights in Scotland have commentary for the first match. And separately there was a brief cut to Sully in the first minute or so.
