It seems they have repackaged all their promos to redirect to ITVX (Credit to BlueFrog) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5SnYeoKIWg&ab_channel=%5BbluefrogTV%5D

Indeed.

It's very rare for a channel to have a very special nostalgic shut down schedule anyway.

It's not something that should even be celebrated for them, and as you've mentioned Brekkie, anything that is too removed from promoting ITVX, wouldn't work

We were checking out the kids lineup on ITVX the other day in preparation for the closure of CITV.

It's pretty good and also much better picture quality. But what it's really lacking (unless it's there but I haven't found it) is either a seperate ITVX Kids app or the ability to have a seperate login for children. It's not great for them navigating to the kids content, whereas iPlayer they can have their own accounts and get to a wall garden of safe content

Why on earth have they waited until the final day do to this? Surely it's better to direct them to ITVX at least a couple weeks in advance?

I think there is a multiple account option somewhere on ITVX, if you have only one account, it flashes the account picker screen for 2 seconds.

Citv just showing citv promos, but rebadged with an itvx endboard, basically it's exactly the same. Not even a verbal announcement

Shame they're in the quite bland and boring ITVX style rather than having specific ITVX Kids branding.   Agree as well it's not great that you seemingly have to go through the main ITVX home page to get to it.

Surely too they should have been pushing ITVX Kids all summer long.  Maybe they'll give it a bigger push now CITV is closing, and perhaps their data shows kids were already using the service anyway, but really they should have been giving the CITV audience more reason to go to ITVX Kids before their only option was to go to the service.

With standard ITVX branding on those trailers, I’m wondering if there will be any branding around the ITV2 block or if it will just use the ITV2 idents.

RE: CITV is to close - Kunst - 01-09-2023

I'm afraid we aren't going to seen anything specific at all, as the main bulk (what counts) is on ITVX.

Just maybe something with sponsorships (ITV2 kids programmes, sponsored by...) and specific announcements on idents with no reference to the rest of the schedule or something similar, nothing else.

Also, they’ve done it so quickly as an obvious edit, that there has clearly been no time to splice in a voiceover.

They could have got away with the same voiceover used on ITV 1 and ITV 2 - the woman that says “stream now on ITV X” - generically spliced into every promo, but they could and should have recorded a special “watch mornings on ITV 2, and available now on ITV X Kids” voiceover.

A silent trial is really quite odd.

The ITV 2 slot should use distinct branding as LittleBe does, but I doubt it will. They could even brand it ITV X Kids, rather like how Channel 5 had a 4Seven-style channel called My5 at one point.
