RE: Talk TV - nwtv2003 - 22-09-2023

I’m surprised this hasn’t been posted already, but given Rupert Murdoch’s departure from NewsUK, News International and Fox and Lachlan Murdoch’s arrival as top dog I wouldn’t be too surprised if there changes afoot within the organisations. There’s an article in the Guardian, where it maybe the only time I agree with Kelvin MacKenzie as he’s suggesting those at TalkTV may want to look for teaboy jobs at GB News.

I see Richard Tice is leaving TalkTV and moving to GB News from Oct 2, even though he regularly appears on GB News as a guest.

It seems Murdoch's company offers very low money to Talk TV compared to what GB News offers - surprising since the Murdoch company is worth a fortune, you would have thought, if a right wing leaning news channel in Britain, a Murdoch owned one would be the most successful, and it isn't

They were simply too late to the party. While Murdoch was dithering about what the channel should be, (originally it was going to be more of a mix of programming showcasing the News UK brands), instead they went for GB News by simulcasting TalkRadio including their breakfast show, which is soon to be produced by the TV side of the operation with evening output made for tv simulcast on the radio.

It was much easier in the old days of media when Murdoch was a huge press baron by publishing spoiler titles to stop rivals, but clearly the tv project was one step too far. The latest schedule changes are a last throw of the dice and with Murdoch himself retiring in November and his eldest son replacing him, there has to be a point that this very expensive project has to come to an end.

New promo for TalkTV:
https://twitter.com/TalkTV/status/1707037919083384934?t=JnJzqZor5on6POXN8LNHKw&s=19
Featuring the branding for the new breakfast show TalkToday, which has a new desk.
New lineup launches on Monday 2nd October.

Do we really need yet another tv breakfast show? I don't agree with half of what Julia Hartley-Brewer said, but at least it was on target for breakfast.

The breakfast set looks horrid as well.

RE: Talk TV - Brekkie - 27-09-2023

Like how they reported the Dan Woottan suspension as him being from a "Hate Channel" with zero sense of irony.

RE: Talk TV - lepeterrr - 27-09-2023

Another tease of the branding for the shows, JHB looks incredibly basic, hoping that isn't just it.
MG just looks like GMBs old branding and Talk Today gives me Early Rundown on Sky vibes.
No branding for 'Primetime with Rosanna Lockwood' has been released yet.

Apologies, didn't attach the file!

Also to add James Max is losing half a hour for the new breakfast show, which starts at 6am to bring it in line with the GB News start time.

(Mike Graham gets the extra half hour at 9.30am after Talk Today added to his show)

So James will only be on for an hour at 5am from Monday.
