Already done by Channel 4 themselves (but only the groups) - Identity, The Land, System, Release and Love.

Apologies if it's already linked to already, but here's the press release https://www.channel4.com/press/news/channel-4-unveils-ground-breaking-new-series-idents-reflect-modern-britain

I held out until it aired on TV; that film was stunning, such a clever system of linking different scenes and identities with the logo at the heart of it. I feel this is an evolution of the 2004-15 package and is a visually stunning and cleverly created set of idents.

I hope that with the 25 films only split into 5 idents that they don’t become too repetitive.

What I will say against this is that they could've just shown each film individually rather than cycling through three of them.

That leads to a graveyard introducing light-hearted programming of the likes of what's currently airing.

The full film's beautiful. I'm particularly loving the nods back to idents-gone-by, especially the classic 80s coloured blocks in no less than two of the segments. My only gripe is the initial transit into the green logo. It looks a bit Amiga-lite. I'd also like some variation of fourscore as the backing track.

I think there are hints of fourscore during the neon green lights section. It's subtle, but I'm sure it's there.

Yes. I do agree there was also hints of Fourscore during the Cemetery ident scene. Very subtle, but still recognisable, especially with headphones.

The concept is lost somewhat though if it's just a slow scan of the logo rather than the loop, even if each individual segment seems wonderfully crafted enough to be an ident in it's own right and I wouldn't be completely surprised if longer edits existed of some.   Indeed the way they're put together you could probably have an infinite loop which used just one ident at a time, just repeatedly returning to it.

I reserved my comments for until after I saw it play on a television, and this is an absolutely brilliant new ident set. Arguably Channel 4's strongest idents this century.

It is interesting that it’s 5 pre-determined idents rather than single loops or going the ITV2 route with them, I didn’t actually realise it was in 5 themed groups. As gimmicky as the randomly generated ident idea is, I think it would work really well for these.

Jumping the gun ever so slightly here, but I’m very excited to see how they incorporate this concept at Christmas… or any other special event. There’s a lot of fun to be had with these.

The 10PM ident also includes hints of Fourscore.
