The press release called it a one-off film. I'm taking that to mean it that it would be only broadcast the once, a bit like the 9 o'clock blocks ident was only shown once on that launch day.

C4 have hit the mark for the second time in a week.

That video has absolutely thrown me. There are scenes I thought were CG that turn out are live action, and ones I thought that were live action turn out to be CG.

I'm surprised the fox one is CGI, it looks very realistic. But I guess getting an animal to behave how you want when there's only a few seconds long pre programmed camera move isn't easy

Just FYI, I have made a new wikipedia article on Channel 4 idents and presentation

Looks good, but your link to the 1979 BBC Two ident's page was incorrect, so I fixed that.

The multicolour 4 ident is still in the mix - it was shown before the football this evening. (As well as there being a SignVideo version shown before BSL signed programmes overnight.)

All 5 idents in full!
Each ident's name is in the video's description.

A shame they've somehow filmed 25 scenes and ended up with just 5 idents. Hopefully more combinations will follow.

I do think these are stunning and love the concept, but I'm also somewhat mourning the style that was hinted at in the initial 4Creative rebrand video of the C4 logo looping through footage linked by a loose interpretation of a cube. Yes, it was nowhere near as stylistic as the infinite 4 but I think it had much more potential and felt more modern, and perhaps more appropriate for linking to the streaming service too. Maybe they'll explore that a bit more there.

I think they should certainly do a version, even if just the graphics like the generic ident, for 4Seven. It seems an easy way to give that a refresh and within this concept they could keep the idea of the branding going from light to dark as the day progresses.

Would love them to make idents for certain occasions/events/holidays. Some Christmassy loops would be lovely.
