Plus, the Nickelodeon channel will showcase all-new animated comedy series for the first time on free-to-air including Middlemost Post, The Smurfs, Monster High and Transformers: EarthSpark.

Also the day of the move to free-to-air will see the closure of the pay-TV Nickelodeon and Nick Jr channels on Foxtel, with the channel on Sky in NZ closing on 2nd August.
Also 90s NickToons classics might get them some worthy ratings.

It's not just Nickelodeon and Nick Jr leaving Foxtel behind for streaming/free-to-air, but also MTV as well. MTV's music channels will remain on Foxtel however, with MTV Classic set to be replaced by MTV 80s on August 1st. I think other providers that aren't Foxtel will still keep Paramount's channels including the new free-to-air Nickelodeon.

I think Paramount+ is one streamer too many for many of us but it seems a mistake they don't take advantage of their heritage brands instead way Disney+ has as pushing Nickelodeon and MTV could be a point of difference.

I don't think they can compete really on the scripted drama/comedy front but kids content especially, plus the trash MTV is associated with nowadays, is an area where they could be competitive.

Paramount+ does have Nickelodeon and MTV branded content on it, not sure what you're looking at but its definitely there.

MTV's most famous "hook" (music videos) has now been lost to YouTube while so-called "Music Television" faffs around with Cribs and what not.

The app has a 'Brands' section with Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr, etc. They don't have the kind of top of the app sections like Disney+ has though.

They should rename it 'Channels' and add other sections like 'Star Trek' for other IPs.

Nice to see some archive appearing like Daria though.

Fair enough if they're in the app but there is no mention of them on the sign up page.

Is New Zealand losing these channels entirely? What’s the messaging been there, I wonder. Apparently theres no Paramount+ there either?

I'm not sure since the Aussie feeds are provided to NZ viewers.
