Where did you get the 90s from? It was quite clearly set in the present day, not least with the references to covid and lockdowns.

Blush Because it had the style of a 90s quiz show rather than a 00s quiz show - not polished enough, a bit cheesy, everyone’s happy to be there, very little talking about why they didn’t go for certain answers like you get now… and obviously it was set now, but could easily be Chain Letters or Crosswits.

I thought the branding was dated but the set was clearly based on Pointless and to be fair they did include the reasoning behind answers they were giving.

According to the article posted a bit back, it was a virtual set that had already been designed for potential use on a modern gameshow, so was meant for 2020s use, not to emulate something from the past.

Agree it had a 90s vibe though was very clearly a well observed piece on the nuances of gameshow over the last few years without resorting to bringing out a speedboat.

It felt like a bland BBC 1 daytime gameshow Bob Monkhouse might have presented in the 90's.

And a slightly less bland primetime show Paul Daniel’s used to present in the 90s?

There’s a bit of Eggheads in there as well, with team names losing contestants etc but arguably more dynamic.

YES!!!! Very Wipeout! Which also had a very early virtual set.

Virtual set extensions and audience shot - most of what you saw in the show was real.

With the Bob Monkhouse era wasn't it that there were two shots in play here.

The first being the main wide shot of the studio / set - can't remember if it was BBC Oxford Road or ITV Quay Street because wasn't this the era of 3SixtyMedia at the time just starting out - so you had that as shot one. The second was of the audience itself in another studio and then the magic happened with the comping of the two.

Plus, didn't there also used to be a false 'ceiling' to hide the lighting rigs and all that if memory serves me correct?
