Not having the duo in the opening title sequence, and maybe splitting This Morning presentation into a Monday to Wednesday for one duo, and then a rota of guest presenters to take Thursdays and Fridays, bringing in more selection of hosts, especially as we near the weekend.

So what you are saying is never have a main permanent presenter of anything in case they turn out to be a wrong-un

That probably does explain why so many programmes have permanent guest presenters these days

Surprised This Morning haven’t updated social media channels, with Schofield’s image still showing.

Is it possible that the desire here for a wide-ranging refresh is largely down to most TV presentation fans enjoying such a refresh?

Then complaining endlessly about the relaunches they've been demanding when they do happen and how it was better before.

They'd arguably already moved away from that with increasing prominence for presenters outside the main duo - Craig Doyle effectively the 3rd choice host but doesn't feel like a stand in when he comes in to cover.

As is natural in these cases much knee jerk reaction upon first hearing the news but generally speaking the show just has to get through Monday to begin to move forward rather than worrying about getting through the next few months.

A rotating pool of presenters comprising Alison, Josie, Craig, Dermot, Holly (if she stays), Vorders, Vanessa in a random roster format. Any two of them on any given day.

Or the same concept featuring newly added names, if ITV decides to add new members to the current family.

ITV investigated “rumours” of relationship between Phillip Schofield and younger employee in 2020 but both “repeatedly denied” it

Suggestions now that this could be catastrophic for ITV, with the potential for senior people to go

An inside source told The Sun: "This goes right to the top.

"Very senior heads could roll.

"If there’s any suggestion of a cover-up they could be culpable.

“It’s also possible that This Morning could end up getting the axe.”

Why, in this day and age, is it acceptable for an employer to "investigate" rumours of a consensual relationship between employees?

Here we go again, axing rumours. The show will not be axed. It's a huge part of their schedules, what will they fill it with? Two more hours of The Chase? Increase Loose Women and Lorraine by an extra hour each?

Everyone who says This Morning is going to be axed has no idea how daytime television is run on ITV - pulls in decent viewers, and generates decent ad revenue at that time of day - also it's live, whereas BBC One fill up their mid morning schedule with recorded programmes.

I think there is a campaign in the press to get ITV to axe the show. It won't work.
