I could actually see a permanent host not being announced until January
Realistically you couldn’t trial people in the summer and then get one of them to start permanently at the start of September
Unless they’ve already got some names in the frame and they aren’t going to trial people

They'll be names in the frame. They've 3 and a half months - that should be plenty of time to recruit for a position. A month to advertise the position, a month to screen test and then a month's notice to start.
The Tories hired two new PMs in that time frame last year, so one host of a daytime TV show shouldn't take longer - and if at first they don't succeed just try again.

Am I imagining things or did Holly host with…Dan Baldwin at some point in the distant past?
Not suggesting that’s an option but I seem to remember it!

She’s hosted a show with Danny Baldwin, not sure about Dan though, he’s not been a presenter as far as I know.

I suspect now 21 of those 35 years are probably not going to be something they want to celebrate at the moment the 35th celebrations will be low key.

I think ITV will just keep throwing co-presenters at the wall with Holly (or possibly someone else if Holly goes) to see if one sticks. And I know it hasn't really been mentioned in this thread, but I don't imagine ITV would axe the show. Look at the absolute mess left in the ITV(1) and ITV2 schedules when Jeremy Kyle was axed!
