And in defence of Channel 4, that does sound like something not too distant from a Channel 5 commission, and they don't have the same tag of a struggling broadcaster.

It doesn't sound too far from a Channel 5 commission because it appears to be a Channel 5 programme, going by that image.

It's just Scott Byran clickbaiting as usual, he always looks down on ITV1 and Channel 5 programming with the exception of Mr Bates vs The Post Office.

Only an elitist would look down on such quality programming as "Wetherspoons vs Toby Carvery", or a series of four shows about how to use an air fryer...

But Channel 5 are given a pass for some reason.

C4 is supposed to be "alternatively different" and "born risky" though. I think the trouble for C4 is not only are such shows pretty low value they don't seem to bring the audience to C4 that they do to C5.

I meant even when there is no comparison being made to Channel 4.

Scrapheap Challenge coming back would be nice. Robert returning as host perhaps less so. It was perfect Sunday evening viewing when it was originally on. God knows what changes they'd have to make to it for a modern audience.

Why not have Robert back? He is lovely and knows the show inside out - bringing in a brand new host might just kill the reboot dead

He’s basically a BBC press officer, constantly clipping-up fairly boring content from ‘Auntie’ while trying to go viral

Tempting Fortune has been recommissioned - thought that format had potential so glad it's coming back.
Scared of the Dark joins Alone and Rise and Fall on the axed list, but to me that never felt like a returning series.
